Anyone else suffered the same symptoms…constant nagging from the mrs about the water being on while your piddly 300 ro trickles out water like its constantly suffering from cystitis? Well i have and now is the time to go for the big guns, what one are you guys using? Im thinking Pure freedoms HF5 as I've got terrible pressure 45psi from mains and my
ibc is about 10 metres from that..

Any mediation advice truly appreciated

I use the Hf4 4040 RO kit with a single Fibredyne pre-filter and Clarke booster pump:

I think once you have had a 4040 you would never go back to a piddly little RO again, they are awesome.

It is flowing as well as possible tbh it's just it isn't fast enough, my water is almost constantly on for me to do 4-500l per day.

The booster pump.when the pure comes out its like turning

I would be looking at Vyair then.

They will build and test one for you. Pretty much the best on price as well.

I would also go for a pumped version!

Right thanks for the replies so far, I'd like to measure the psi at my hose to find out if I need a booster can anyone tell me how to fit this on the end of a 1/2 inch hose as this is obvs for the tap?

The thread on the end is the same as 'hoselock' outside tap fittings.

piece of 15mm copper pipe into the hose and attach a washing machine valve on the end of the copper pipe and attach the pressure gauge to that , you can then control the water flow thru the washing valve

Martin I use a Clarke cbm 240e booster pump:

It's well worth the money in my opinion as it's a good quality pump that should last years.
My tap tds is 280ppm and the booster pump helps get the output down to 7ppm with a 50:50 waste/pure ratio.
Im probably getting around 250 ltrs per hour of pure water output in warmish weather.

If I buy a Tee valve I suppose I could leave the Gauge in permanently?

they were very helpful on  the end of the phone and test the ro before it goes out .

my water pressure is 45psi and i'm getting out 10ppm and filling out a 500liter tank in 3 hours .
its worth speaking to them and discussing your issues , there are low pressure ro out there which will suite your circumstances .

Right I've fitted the gauge and I'm getting 35psi pre pump. I can't believe my tds after Ro (even though after pump) is 006 and has been the last few months, my tds in is about 280! Anyway still Im going for the new 4040 as I'm probably wasting more money in water than I'm saving in resin.
