This is a current post from the general cleaning section http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=185343.0

The employee sounds a right piece of work and would like to know how you can protect yourself from being sued for what is possibly a dodgy claim.

Usually he's full of poop but i have to agree with bob on this one....
Surely she has a solicitor or insurer she can talk to, rather than post on a public forum...?

I was following that thread too Ian.
Somewhere early on the OP admits not having the right paperwork.
If she had, she'd've been fully protected.
If she has employed as many as she has for as long as she has, I think she's been lucky.

I was following it too. I think its a good read for anyone thinking of employing by seeing the potential pitfalls. I don't think you can protect yourself from possible dodgy /spurious claims, if they're going to claim then they will. It highlights, to me at least, the importance of having correct procedures in place. And of course the powers of personal persuasion to the ex employee could be used  ;D

Yes but it's up to them to sign it lol our there not insured under company employee contract lol

early on with an employee you should let slip in conversation that you hav served time for murder or at the very least GBH  .  very few will claim after knowing this

If someone is going to claim then you cant do a great deal about it. The Irish method does however have some success! A person with dollar signs on their mind in this part of the world is often taken to the side and has ones knee caps removed! And all it costs is the price of a pint..... Everyones a winner... ;)
