I would have thought you can use any controller, pump and Di vessel. Regardless of what Brodex have to say, a vessel, pump and controller are just that.

Suppose pumps are the same but the controller has a moulding in the tank to fit

That does not mean you have to put it there, as long as it is wired in it will be fine wherever you put it.
