Just heard some really sad news. An old friend been a windy for 20 odd years just died. About 5 years ago, he discovered a mole on the back of his leg which had gone cancerous, many years of wearing shorts whilst window cleaning. Went for his 5 year final checkup and they discovered he had secondary cancer in the form of small tumours on his brain. Didn't live long after that. Really really sad. Left a lovely wife and two daughters.
Guys make sure you protect your skin always when you work, make it part of your daily routine as part of your work in the summer.

J D ... Still got my hair (at this point lol) but always wear a cap in summer.... My mrs says don't forget to put protection on your ears as a lot of men get cancer of the ear skin. Window cleaning dangerous even without a ladder!!

Aye the tips of the ears are always forgotten! People in my town wear red burnt skin like a badge of honour in the summer! Some people still believe you only get skin cancer when your on holidays! They reckon the Spanish sun burns but the Irish sun doesn't !

Not good advice from what I've read.
You need to get the balance.
Skin needs to get used to sun, not be protected in entirety.
There was an article a while back about kids getting rickets (like off of 1930) 'cause parents are slapping factor 50all over little Johnny and then they end up with a vitamin D deficiency.
The sun is lovely. But it can harm. It's a case of being sensible. And realising what skin type you are. Some need more protection than others.

Love this county,  I never wore sunscreen in south africa when I grew up and we get a little more sun that here.

The UV in this country is actually quiet low compared to OZ and SA,  its actually a good idea to get a bit of sun now while its not in full force so your skin is ready for actual summer when you will be out there everyday. 

then put some sunscreen on - and a hat.

We only need something like 6 minutes of sun a day to get the required vitamin d, so putting on suncream really is a good idea.

We both (Wor Lass 'n' I) drink tomato juice daily, as well as the usual stuff since we spend a lot of time outside even when not working.

If I was living in a HOT country I would now cover up, but this is england...  we have\had 1\2 days of sun a week and the rest is cloudy so get the VIT D and a small tan while you can.

But for you fair skin guys, use factor 15 or something so you get a little tan to start.
