Looks good, bag, inline tds, outlet at base etc but do you think many are sceptical of unger in the WFP market as they seemed slow on the uptake to me?

Unger resin is pretty dam good.

What you have to remember is the gear is aimed at the USA market. So unger WFP is right up there street.

I hadn't thought of that, I hope they do up their game, they have been market leaders for so long in traditional equip, anyway this di looks like it might be a step in the right direction

Unger and waterfed pole

Totally disagree.  It's yet another pointless unger waterfed pole product. Its basically a resin vessel with a built in TDS meter.  They've put the resin into packets that look like a pair of tights, and if unger's past form is anything to go by, those little resin packets will be mega expensive IMO.

Unger has a major problem with WFP in that they are just way too expensive and the stuff is poorly thought out.  They brought out that green unger pole that was just a green coloured XTEL pole, but twice the cost that you could get it elsewhere.  And I think I know why; because they don't sell direct like gardiners, purefreedom, ionics etc, they only sell through distributors and therefore they have to jack up the price to pay for that middle man distributor.

Then they brought out that TERRIBLE nLite pole that looked as though it was as much use as a chocolate teapot and again, mega expensive.

Before that they had that RIDICULOUS HiFlow slot together pole that came with its equally ridiculous "golf bag" which they expected you to cart around a building with you.  Crazy!  Clearly designed by someone who has not a single clue about window cleaning.

I haven't seen prices for this yet, but let's see if my prediction comes true and it ends up being super expensive.  And what benefit is there to using this unger contraption over a normal resin vessel?  I don't see any.

I saw a price dont know if it was right but di around 300 n resin bags over 100 wont sell many at that price if you ask me seems like they are just like ionics expensive

Unger are moving in the right direction and moving the industry forward. I'm assuming you haven't seen he new DI unit and used it? It's the worlds first 'window cleaners' DI and is a joy to use over what else is available.

The new nLite ultra hi mod pole is also a step forward. It's the most ridged pole in existence, out performs everyones pole by nearly 100%. Should be one to try out tomorrow at the WCP show

I seem to remember you (or someone else from Window Cleaning Warehouse) hailing that ridiculous carbon tec pole with its equally ridiculous "golf bag", and even more ridiculous price tag from unger as the greatest thing in existence.

No offense, but you seem to think anything from Unger, no matter how impractical, is the saviour of window cleaners.

What sort of profit margin are you making on Unger stuff may I ask?  30%? 50%?

Whatever it is, I think that profit for window cleaning warehouse is the main reason you think unger wfp gear is so amazing, all the while in the real world it's clear to everyone else that unger is about 7 years behind the likes of Gardiner etc.

Maybe if ionics and unger sold stuff cheaper then maybe more people would be interested in buying

If these things are indeed a step forward from Unger, it will be the first time in their history regarding WFP!!

I've not looked too closely admittedly at the new DI's but unless they make resin economy greater or are significantly cheaper than what the world uses now, they are pretty pointless!

I recall you stating almost the same with the Facelift poles- they've hardly set the world alight & certainly not dented the competition!!  ;D

I went to the WCP show today and was pleasantly surprised by Ungers offerings. The Di thing is actually very good. It is very easy to change the resin and takes the faff out of changing resin that we get with normal bottles. Also you do not have to use their bags, you can put it in loose.
Also their new carbon pole is extremely rigid but a little on the expensive side. I struggled to put a bend in it.

Interesting.

How what's the price of the resin pouches, and how much resin do they hold?

And how much is the bucket/trolley/vessel contraption?

This is where unger will come unstuck imo, they are too expensive.

That's the thing, unless the DI's are priced the same or lower than current versions, easier resin changing isn't enough to sell them IMO, neither is a built in TDS meter. Look at the Spectrum vessels, I considered buying two as they claim superior resin economy. I asked on two forums for opinions & seemingly no one had bought one- they are more expensive over normal vessels but boast the most attractive feature of any vessel.

Pete, no offense taken. Lovely to see a positive post on CIU  ;)

Think your putting words in people's posts here, no one said it was 'saviour of window cleaners' but simply a step in the right direction, and things are picking up speed, the next few years will be interesting.

If you were at the show today, I'm assuming you weren't, the DI has a lot of buzz about it. I'm sure some of the guys who did go could give you an 'unbiased' view point.

ahh Winpro, one of the reasons CIU is such a nice place to visit...

I recall you stating almost the same with the Facelift poles- they've hardly set the world alight & certainly not dented the competition!!  ;D

Really? I think you find the opposite is true....

Did you make it down to the show?

So then Stephen, serious question, what margin do you get from Unger?

30%?  50%?

I'm just curious.
