It's for customers who pay by Direct Debit or Standing Order - so you don't have to bother entering the payment every week/month or whatever.

That seems ok but if paying on standing order they still may not pay, by stopping it and you have it as automated so assume they have.

You still have to check don't you or have I missed something ?

no you still need to check, i have just put them all on a spreadsheet for monthly checking....bit late found one customer had not paid for over 12 months

Yes, obviously George has no way of knowing whether they've paid, but it's easy enough to check.
