What makes you decide on any particular squeegee? Is it the squeegee you learned to window clean with and that you stick with that or is it something else? Me? I started my window cleaning business with brass Ettore squeegee's. I still prefer them to this day. I remember in my first couple of weeks window cleaning, I had brass channels cut to every size window pane I would come across, even little dinky ones for Georgian style windows lol.... I soon decided that carrying one squeegee as apposed to six was the best option.

I still have one of them early squeegee's in my office to this day.

Yes Lee I'm the same as you, I started off working for a big Company called Actual they gave me a 14" Etore squeegee which I used for years as we use to do alot of cradle work. I then got. 12" one which I seemed to have more control of, then did what you did cut them down and did so with the applicatior !!!! I've always used Etore from when I started window cleaning 28 years ago. I've just bought the brass unger and the handle feels different abit lighter but they look the same. Ill get use to it but funny how you can feel the difference. 👍

I think both really weight and a good soft rubber. I've just bought the bright green soft rubber  the unger ones. Never seen them before I think it's a 50 year anniversary, not tried them yet but different to the boring black ones 👍

I've used lots of different ones over the years but I've never gone back to any of them since first landing my hands on a wagtail flipper!! (apart from a 6" normal one for inside georgians).

IMO the pivotal flipper is the biggest move forward in trad cleaning for many, many years & I would seriously struggle without them now.

One interesting comment on the other FB group is that its more of an intuitive thing rather than a pre calculated approach to which squeegee you use. I think most ppl could be like you and me in the way that they stick with the squeegee they learned on...... which if true manufactures should be putting a lot of effort in to new starters, this way they could possibly have a customer for life!!

I agree with you, but I am really ashamed.... I have several wagtails that I have used but not extensively but I am still reaching for the Ettore brass

Although having said that I promised myself to teach myself wagtail flipper on a telescopic wfp for high internals.... have just the job for it

I couldn't go back to a separate blade & applicator, just seems much unnecessary hassle! The time I have saved with the wagtail is unreal. A hotel I do, I used to have to take a ladder in for the internals, now I can whip 'em out in half the time without one using the wagtail on a pole!!

However, I will add, I do not use wagtail's own pads, I make my own from Lidl floor mop pads- ten times better! I even shape them as to not get soap on the top frame.

I know ya was she not bad for 46, Dal don't know where the years went m8. You get into your work and family life routine and before you know it a decade as home by then another lol !!!!! 👍👍👍
