GUTTER AND FASCIA CLEANING
« on: March 27, 2006, 10:51:05 pm »
Starting to get a few jobs booked in for fascia work. Does the wfp do a good job of cleaning them or is it a case of getting back up the ladder again??????

Ronaldo,

You'll have no problem with a pole.
I have done facias, cladding and conservatories with a WFP of a outside tap.
So with pure water should be much better

I used to do them off a ladder by hand , even when i had wfp , then i thought i would try it with wfp , it comes up great and is so much quicker too .

Nice one lads ive done plenty of the ladder and its hard work and at times dodgy, but good money. Thanks for the reassurance and i would imagine it saves a good deal of time aswell.

cleaned 3 gutters an facias houses last week with the water fed pole, they were really bad with mould so gave em a good rinse first, then back along with a good scrub then a final rinse off, a first for me an they al came up sparkling! used a reversable swan neck for the under side, was great.............well impresed, quick as owt compared when i used to do em hangin off ladders!
splish-splash....give me the cash!

  Ronaldo,

WFP does a great job, is a bit of a hassle in the beginning but once you
have mastered angling the brush it then is a doddle.

One tip, do it at the weekend then you will have the whole street coming
out and wanting it done. And keep your prices high, they will pay for it if
they want it done. I did it one day and was hitting £60/hr, best earner I have
  ever had.

Nice one Doug ive just priced a 4 bed detatched for a fascia and gutter clean plus his windows and all frames, job has easy access to get at everything. Told the customer 120.00 quid and ive got the windows on a monthly basis at 15 quid a time he was well happy. Nice little earner for a saturday morning. Cheers Ronaldo.

Did a 3 bed end of terrace house last week.
Gutter & Fascia & Conservatory Roof.
Took about an hour to do for £70
First time i really used my wfp to do this and was really surprised how well it came up.

Got another 3 or 4 Gutter/Fascia jobs to do next month.
Will definately use pole to do these

I usually price my gutter work between £20 - £30 per side depending on size and how dirty they are.

Yep - pole is good for this and conservatory roofs(just bear in mind that you won't be able to actually clear the gutters with it) and it's a good extra earner for the spring and summer.
It's a game of three halves!

I had always done this by hand until yesterday. Access was a problem. I took out my unger teleplus pole and attached the old winspray gun and brush to try cladding and guttering. Only used water from outside tap. Once got going it all came up great! ;)

Now to start thinking about wfp. Before I but a system might get pole to attach to garden hose. Is this possible?

I'm now convinced wfp is the way to go, not tried it my self on the old gutters but certainly will next time, just one question can you do the CRESTING and the pointy thing on top of conservatorys i've always done them by hand and they take forever. :P looking forward to my wfp turnning up next week.

I've done lots over the years , for me I find it quicker to get up the ladder if poss and wet the gutters up with the applicater then wipe of with a sill cloth , I can fly round like this , hard to reach stuff the wfp comes out - but you do get a bit wet  ;D

I find the applicater on a pole makes a good gutter cleaner/scraper also .

for conservatory roofs I have a brush that go's onto the tap ( come from betterware !! ) had it for 10 years and has earn't me some dosh , the brush head is a bit stiffer than the wfp ones so cuts through the dirt/algee a bit beter

Yes a lot of poles come with hoselock type male fitting anyway so connects straight to a hose.
