Just a quick question. I got them ez snap on fittings which I've just put on, now when I pull the pole hose out water is still coming out the fitting is that right ? Shouldn't it have a stopper in it as ill be losing water due to unplugging then walking back to the van that can't be right can it. With the plastic hozelock it's got a poop valve to stop the water when you unplug it. Any ideas

I am surprised you never went for the hozelock Gardiner fittings. Expensive at £11 plus vat for the anti stop. But the male is only £4.

I can't seem the causing an issue. I used to work with 6L a min with them mate. Doubt you are that high

I never saw them the gardeners hozelock fittings, only saw female ez snap but fitted erm all with those big balls small holes to oust minibore thru but pushed bigger drill bit thru made it abit easier. Just tried seems to be flowing fast so I'm pleased with that thanks for your help in that one lol !!!!

Only thing ill have to order another male bought four did all me poles but will need spare to drain water when reeling in, is that what you do as it makes pressure into the joint going into hose reel and may start leaking 👍

I usually release pressure before I switch pump off.

Ez snap is better tbh. Hose lock ones are great but heavy and will get damaged.

O that's good yes they are small and light. I've just bought a male off eBay only to release the water after I've reeled in hose.

I thought it was just me that suffered with the high pressure once you were done with the house - every time I remove the hose from the van port, water shoots everywhere!  Am concerned I was going to rot the underside of the van.  When starting a house, I've gotten into the habit of connecting my pole hose to my reel hose BEFORE turning the pump on, otherwise again water sprays out everywhere until I get it properly clicked in.

So what's the best way to relieve the pressure after finishing cleaning a house?  I could pull the barb out of the end of the hose - it tends to come out quite a bit on its own anyway, which had me thinking the pressure in my system was too high as it is.  I don't have an ez snap male, is this the best thing to do?

Tbh build up pressure ain't an issue for me. I release "some" pressure before I reel

Having swapped from a digital controller to an analogue controller the DEAD END stop is so accurate. So get little to no build up pressure.

What I normally do when I've finished the window is take out pole hose walk to the van turn pump off then reel in, once I'm reeled in I pushed a connecter like a t piece but the straight one so it lets all the water from the reel. As I've now got the metal rectus fittings I've bought an extra male piece the same as the piece that go into the pole hose. Push that in and releases the water. At the mo I turn pump off reel in with pole still plugged in so pressure water is coming out the brush head. Hope that helps. I use to have a t piece on the pump with the hose coming off and going back
To the tank so when you reeled in the water would go back into the tank. 👍

Similar to danny but without the connector to put in the end of the reel hose to release the pressure.  I 'could' remove the ez snap female end stop at the end of the reel hose, but don't wana increase the wear on it and the inside of the microbore, it comes out enough on its own with the pressure and dragging it along the floor   Plus putting it back in always a nice cool spray everywhere...

danny what did you buy to put in the ez snap end stop to release the pressure?  Can't find anything suitable on gardiners

I have found that if I walk back to the van with pole, pole hose, reel hose all connected and in my hands, that it all gets tangled and wastes time.  On my next order I'll have to get an extra piece to try it out, in the meantime I'll use the brush and tap on the pole hose to release the pressure and try to find a way to not get it all tangled.

Why do people switch the pump off between jobs? I just leave it on otherwise I am sure I would reel out 50 metres, start the job, then after the water stops walk back to the van to switch the pump on.

I didn't know the hose was easier to wind in with the pump off, just turning the pump off is the first thing I do when I get back to the van, just a habit I've gotten into, probably from being paranoid about the pump draining my van battery.  I'm far too OCD on checking the voltage readout but dead battery = no work.  If it gets down to 12.3v I start sweating and have to fight the urge to run the engine for a few minutes, or while I'm cleaning the front of a house.

Because I have to connect the reel to the van port, it's a simple matter of opening the sld and turning on the pump, therefore it's one of the first things I do at the start of a house.  If it's easier to wind out with the pump off, then I don't know about it, having never done it!  I try to minimise the amount of walking to and from van, but I'm pretty sure I'm slow (lazy?) at everything!  Very, very occasionally I forget and then wonder why the water stops halfway through first window!

Where is that explained? I can't see that anywhere and I have never noticed any difference - with one exception. If you don't let the water drain after the last job of the day, the hose is a pig to pull out the next day. It is obviously lighter to lift without the water too.

Chris I've just bought the 8mm male tail hose you know the ones that you fit to all the pole hose that then push into the female you have fitted to you hose reel hose. 👍
