New van n Tank - at last!!
« on: March 29, 2014, 10:13:18 pm »
Thanks to Paul the fitter at Pure Freedom (respect mate - I know you don't post but do read CIU). Excellent job and all my mates are very impressed...

I've chosen a professionally fitted wfp system after much thought and angst.. Been using a DIY trailer system for 6 months now and decided to up-grade to the 'full monty'. Happy with the decision although it has been expensive.

Ex AA 08 plate vivaro 2.9 ton with 800ltr tank n 2 man system (future proofed for expansion - I'm currently a 1 man outfit) Before anyone comments on weight!! I ran it over the local scrappys weighbridge filled up with water and with all my trad gear n ladders in this morning 2860kg so close, but legal!! Just.

I'm convinced this more professional kit will propel my business forward to even greater heights and for that I'm grateful - not everyones 'cup of tea' but luckily we're all different with different business needs..

Advice from Spruce, Pure H2O, Vin, Cozy(must have been ze spray bottle ;D) and the rest make this forum worthwhile - Remember to soak up the positives mebbe ignore the negatives and take advice from those who have experience in these matters.

P.S. Photos taken without trad gear before it's mentioned..

Just a comment, no questions

P.P.S. Danny Mack n Dazmond (thought I'd forgotten you guys!!) Keep it up funny as hell..

So with a second user and hose reels you will be overweight by a fair bit then :(

Don't have to fill the tank to capacity - empty 800kg lighter - common sense prevails

With the tank outlets you will only need to fill one tank between 85-90% to get a good days work before tank is totally empty .

I have a flat tank and their is defo between 75-85 litres left in tank when parked on the level surface after a god days work . I have a 300 ltr static tank and fill my truck tank full to the brim everyday .

Nice set up mate looks really good . Mike

Did you check the limit on the front axle as it is against the bulkhead? The total payload can be within limit but an axle can be overloaded.

I appreciate that, just seems weird. Fitted as a two man system but you can't fill to the top.

So reliastically you can probably fill to 650L that allows for another driver and his hose and reel and maybe another battery as i don't see two.

I see now people can have an 800L AND be under. Different frame and tank setup.

I believe xline is the lightest with aluminium frames.

Like you say it's your show. Van inside looks good. Yellow van.....spend a £1000 and get it wrapped ;)

It looks really smart, and it is better to have a bigger tank, we had ours fitted with a pipe at the side of the tank so we can fill the backpack which comes in useful.
Did you get the automatic shutoff, so you can leave the tank filling without having to worry about it overflowing ?
We have had the system a couple of years now, and it has been spot on.

Like that idea as also have a back pack for tricky houses - may install one in future.

Split relay for distance charging - trickle to top up every couple of days if needed.

Auto shut off, so fills when zzzz and a shut off balance valve so can also separate the whole system to 2 x 400ltr or a single 400ltr tank.

Thank you all for your comments out to play with it for real on tues   :D :D :D

looks good mate.if its right for your needs go for it!

for me though i would never put a 800L tank in a van with that payload.you will never use 800L in A DAY ON YOUR OWN!and if you had a helper.him and another hose reel will defo put you over the limit.

im still waiting for my 500L tank and frame to be delivered.just gotta find a half decent van to bolt it in now!! ;D ;D

very best wishes
