Hi Guys, The reason i have such an aversion to high alkaline based chemicals is from experience and for using them for so many years and seeing first hand the detrimental damage they cause to surfaces from continuous use. i am happy to share from my experience over the years harsh chemicals with a pH value of 10 or over generally are classed as corrosive and these are the ones you have got to be extremely careful with, the cleaning chemicals we use now depending on the surface to be cleaned would have a pH value of between 7 to 9 always remember that a cleaning chemical with a pH value of 11 is actually 10 times more alkaline than a cleaning chemical with a pH value of 10. i met a chemist many years ago who explained to me some home truths about the cleaning industry and went on to tell me that people dont care how much you know until they know how much you care, he also showed me what to look out for and always check the material safety data sheet on the cleaning chemical you are going to use on clients surfaces, there are many janitorial suppliers in the UK who will guide you through the process of using safe and effective cleaning chemicals, just put them to the test and see that they also care. now again guys i said i am happy to share my experience i know other people will have different ideas and other people will think what a load of BS which is fine to, just hope that this info can be of benefit to some of the newer guys joining our industry.
