Day from hell
« on: March 25, 2014, 08:57:44 pm »
What a day I have had. Been the worst for a long time.

I set off as normal around 9am and was going out to my first couple of houses. They are great little earners £45 each and only take 20 mins each. They all leave the money out and and if they don't leave the gates open I charge double. Each customer offered me a tea or a go on their daughter but declined as I wanted to finish 4 hours earlier today.

So I got those done by 12 and was just about on target of £300 by 12pm

Then off to my compact work. They are all 8 weekly but at £20 a pop they are really easy todo. So I worked until 4pm and just about managed to hit my £500 target.

On my last house I have to use an extension. So I split the pole down down and added the extension, on doing this I accidentally stood on the John guest fitting. So that's £2 I will never see again.

I am absolutely raging. I will be starting early tomorrow to make up for it and will probably do some canvassing.

You lot make me laugh. None of you have a clue do you?

Today I was doing £10 houses in a road within 200 yds of where I live. I do 76 of them in a day and while I'm working a lady comes up and asks how much so having the correct attitude of training the customer right from the start, and while holding my trusty Extreme, which always impresses the ladies, I said it's £8 but for you it's £10.

She jumped at the chance so I whipped out my T & C's, all 19 pages of it, and she refused to sign all because I require 10 years worth of payment up front paid by DD within 6 hours.

What a bitch. I couldn't believe it. So I've dumped a customer before even cleaning her windows but it didn't matter because later that day, i picked 19 more.

That made me late home  >:(. I didn't get to eat dinner untill 2.30pm having starting work at 10am.

Still the extra cash will come in handy as I'm saving up for a one week family holiday at Bultins in Bognor Regis this October.

Brilliant!  ;D ;D ;D

You missed out that you ordered a new John Guest fitting at 6pm and as it didn't arrive by the next day you were fed up with Alex's poor customer service and were getting your next pole directly from China.
It's a game of three halves!

Ross you should convert to wfp, you could easily get you numbers up from 76 to a 100 a day.
If you are wfp and are not getting these numbers then you need to improve your method.
A good tip for earning a bit more is to charge extra when having to clean in stormy weather (around double the price)
Ross I don't want to sound rude but £10 is a price most shiners charged in the eighties you need to double your
price before you ruin it for everybody else.
I charge £15 for a two bed (front only) and most of my customers give me £20 because they think I under charge as it takes
me five mins to complete.
