Best van for pressure washing ?
« on: March 21, 2014, 11:31:55 pm »
I have a renault trafic swb at the moment, with a 650 lt water tank, and I am struggling at the moment for space with the pw, generator, and gutter cleaning gear.        I am seriously thinking of getting a bigger van, so I could have a skid mount washer at the side door next to a tank.
What vans would be best for this job, I am thinking along the lines of vivaro/trafic lwb high roof, what do you use ?
Thanks  ;D

Can you not just load and unload your van? I know it's a bit of a pain in the rear but I don't carry equipment that i don't need for that day.

Our Iveco hasn't had a clutch replaced since 3 years ago.
Transit we put a clutch on it every year for 3 years.
It's got upgraded springs too and carries the weight. Never on its ar $ e like a transit.

In mine is a 500 litre tank for window cleaning and can still get a pressure washer, fsc, lances, bags of sand, 25 litres of hypo, barrel and hoses.

I've got an Iveco & a Transit. Cannot bring myself to say I have a tranny!!!

The Iveco is fantastic but it is the LWB version. Holds carried weight really well and from a visual perspective you wouldn't know it was loaded. Great chassis!!

Transit went in for some pre MOT works, Disc & pads needed changing, problem with a wiring loom (god knows what that means), power steering pump and a couple of other bits.

Went onto a weighbridge and without water it weighed 3400 kgs.  With water (on site) it would be 5000 kgs. We don't drive with water on board.

This thing travels all over the country, has 1500 kgs more than it should have put on it, has water dripping out of every opening, on a daily basis and the MOT people said it was in perfect condition underneath.

Give me a Transit any day of the week!!

The red of FC United mate. Anti Glazer. Although The Glazers will in a way be funding the roof clean on Fellaini's house next month.  ;D

How much money do you want to spend?
New van usually works out cheaper in the long run over say 5 years.
35 mwb movano 1620kg load
trafic 2900 lwb 1280kg load
boxer upto 1500kg load
Sprinter oh that would rust away after 4
iveco thirsty but strong. almost lorry build.
Transit they are for transit people only. lol Never tried the new ones.
Had a 350 lwb rwd 2002 done 120k blew the oil cooler, done my knapper in draining the oil from rad so off she went.

swb trafics are a blooming nightmare size.. just a foot and a half too short, Have a lwb one and awaiting my little new movano lwb 7 seat crew. still 2.4m load length behind seats. 1380kg load

Disagree, Black Vivario un-sign written and over-loaded with work this end already (again) this year.
New guys in training so another going on the road soon.  ;D and most probably un-sign written as don't have time to get them done.
