ive decided im going to save a bit more money and get either

VIVARO/TRAFIC/PRIMASTAR SWB  or

DISPATCH/SCUDO/EXPERT LWB (new shape)

GRIPPAPRO frame and 500L baffled tank

vinyl half wrap in black/blue and white.

both these vans should be ok weightwise with a full tank, gas bottle,heater,2 reels(hot and cold),poles,trad gear and ladders,roof rack.

im looking at spending £5000-£6000 on the van(no vat if possible)

£600 for tank and frame

£600 half vinyl wrap

for a one man set up i think this will be ideal for my needs and will last me a few years.

i was still toying with the idea of getting a cheaper van for £2000.using my existing tank(350l).normal sign writing and blowing the rest of my money on a holiday for me and my girfriend


BUT!!........i want to stand out from the crowd of other window cleaners in my area!!

it wont make me a better window cleaner but i already provide a great service plus i have more posh accounts and commercial mixed in with my run of the mill work these days.


your thoughts guys?

did you notice any negative reaction from customers/other windys when you upgraded your image and van?

Upgraded to a new transit custom last year. The only comments were good ones. Compliments. Didnt lose a single custard as a result of upgrading.

I'd recommend a grippatank 650 in one of those vans assuming you are going for the 1200 payload, at least you know it's crash tested.

A decent wrap will pick up a reasonable amount of work, as long as it's simple and eye catching.  If you haven't done already spend a little on a uniform as well.  You will always get some snooty customers that give negative comments but these are outweighed by the new customers you pick up from looking like a pro.

I will have a 500L tank with a stainless steel frame that will be for sale soon, I have it in my Vivaro at the moment. Reason for sale is that I have just ordered a 800L tank which I need to make a frame for and replace the 500L in the van. I am a ex welder/fabricator by the way, with my own TIG welder, which comes in very handy.
The tank is perfectly clean and is even insulated with the silver foil bubble wrap.

simon i already have black and blue embroidered uniform,black and blue business cards,leaflets,tickets etc.

even my extreme poles are black and blue!(blue aqua-daptors!)

so black and blue signage to match would be great! ;)ive already chose (roughly) the design.nice and simple and very professional.

I must  admit both me and my wife think that the new vivaro is ugly.
I might just try and get a deal on the present version, might get it quite a bit cheaper when my lease runs out in November.
