Is put that £1500 as a deposit on a newer van and rest on the books. If your planning on keeping the van and being serious about your job invest in a decent van as you will only have problems with an old banger if a van. End up costing money and giving ya the hump where it's off the road not earning no doe  lol !!! 👍😳🚙🚙🚙🚛🚚🔫

If it was a high roof 230 which i know it was even old a average mileage with Any service history £2,500 you can't get 230s cheap even older ones
If you see one for £1500 in good nick always buy it its a 2-1 winner

Think I paid £4995 for my connect. 08 plate full history, 108k miles. always go for full history if you can,  it now has 118k miles no issues at all drives like its got 40k on it. Great vans.

If you have 1500 budget a 04 connect with 70k miles should be easy to get. But go for the tddi not the tdci as the latter are big money to fix. A set of injectors alone is in excess of a grand.

I'll be changing my van as soon as finance is up, not making the same mistake as before keeping it and running into found its a headache.

I'm not being contrary but the fuel pumps on the tddi regularly fail and a fuel pump on a DI is more than a fuel pump on a common rail diesel. As for the injectors they can be bought for £120 each, and a good garage would only charge 1-1.5 hours labour to fit and recode.

I had a a connect that had 120k on when I sold it. It ran perfectly. These engines are not like a modern common rail, the basic engine was used in escorts in the early 90's, all ford have basically done is stick a common rail fuel system on.

They are very reliable, and very good for a home mechanic to work on.
