Different windows require different techniques. Need more info really.What kind of window was it and where were the spots?The only reason you get spotting is from contamination, it's a technique issue.

All over? Top 2 inches?
Sounds like you need to rinse more to be honest. There's also the chance it could be a mineral deposit on the glass that won't come off without a chemical.
