Sticky water?
« on: March 13, 2014, 08:45:39 am »
Anyone else find that pure water seems to 'stick' to different types of glass differently?

Sometimes it seems to run off really quickly, but other times seems to hang around on the glass for ages, and I'm not talking about evaporation speed either.

Also seems like the dirtier the glass the more 'sticky' the water is.  Maybe it's tree sap?

No you get different types of glass forget the name of the 2 types.
Some the water runs down and se the water beads on the glass straight away 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

The two different types of glass are Hydrophillic this one the water sticks too and beads.
The other type is Hydrophobic this repells the water and sheets down nicely.

 Best regards

+1

Hydrophilic  is what we all like to clean. Nice to rinse, and glass nearly ends up dry by the time you've finished the rinse.
