He might have tried to dry the window after you left ?

it will more than likely be on the inside or a blown double glazed unit (which will be your fault  ;D)

find it better to say nowt to old folks ... just get on and do it

only one way to find out.go back and take a look mate.

most probably blown seals creating a misting/smearing affect or dirty insides!!

the customer is most apologetic when they realise they ve made a mistake!! ;) ;D

its happened to me a few times! ;D
price higher/work harder!

Started WFP last week, first customer I did (Old Dear) I lost - I'm so used to trad, I did her front door and soaked the front door mat.  She was a bit annoyed, but I thought everything was okay - then next thing I know she comes out and starts going on about it again, slagging off WFP and said I was "bananas" for using it.  Long story short, we parted ways.

Shame as I had her on the round since I started, always done a good job, stopped to chat to her - one mistake and gone.  Had a more positive reaction from other customer thankfully :)

yeah cant wait to go round see this one window he's talking about, i know i scrubbed it and rinsed it good but just interested to see what this smearing is, if he moans after ive sorted it he can happily go to anouther guy who uses ladders!
ive got my ladders on the roof of the van and since i started wfp ive took them off once to get round the back even then i begrudged it but wfp is so the future!
wish i started it sooner :)

Stick to your guns on this. Offer to clean the window again free, and do the inside glass if possible.

Bear in mind if you have been using soap and squeeies, it will take a few cleans for the soap to wash out.

i ask the lady is all ok,       squinted face and says all window is smearry.    i say it shouldnt be,  ill take a look when its all dry.
i take a look up top window via ladder,  clear outside.    inside is smeared as if gone mad on windowlene.   i told her its all inside,     said clean with soapy water and dry, no more mr muscle .      all this time she must have thought the wfp cleaning was crap.    glad i asked her if all is ok.

could have lost a customer.

always best to ask new customers to wfp cleaning if all is ok.  its the only way to check.

The only time you will get a complaint... Is when you take time explaining how the system works in detail, they will then look more closely (out of interest)
Then phone to complain, and you tell them to wash their insides and they will get the full benefit :)

well went round first thing and got there and seen it straight away, one half opening window had a tiny faint dribble down the centre of the glass and its come straight from the drain hole in the top opening window above, how this old man saw it with his eyes amazed me as it wasnt one of those obvious dirty dry dribble lines it was really faint!
i went straight to the van got a scrim out and two second wipe, he could have done it himself but to be fair i did say contact me if there was any probs at all and he was more impressed that i travelled all that way back to wipe a mark off, lesson learnt for me to keep an eye on the drain holes above on top opening window frames :-[

I give a simple peice of information on a first clean about how the finish may turn out.
Mention the issues with small spots a few lines which will be easily removed using bone dry toilet paper.
These marks are due to undisolved solids such as salts  in the frames which are hard to disolve totally on the initial clean.
Please bear with us for a minimum of 3 cleans and we will monitor ever visit.
If you find a problem continues or you are not satisfied we will find a solution that does.

I had a few drop outs the first month but I must say we don't need unreliable customers leave another window cleaner suffer them gladly.
A good customer will understand the benefits of waiting and remember when the guys used to calll and smear their glass with a chamois in the 80's.
Bulling up the lead with a scrim. the good old days lads.

Also ask them to try and not open the windows straight after cleaning as the water can run out of the frames before it dries, causing streaks.
