Hey Guys,
What chemical, if any do you recommend for removing algae, moss, bird mess and general dirt from conny roofs or would you just use pure water.
Thanks, Phil...........

G101, virosol, TFR, ubik, truck wash

All pretty much the same,  make sure it's non caustic and not cheap crapola off the bay

True, but I find using virosol speeds up the process and makes cleaning easier. Also leaves a nice shine too, and smells good.

Lol. To be fair, Tadgh does normally give a method as well. Mind you, that never varies.  ;D

Hi Guys, yes i would like to recommend a method for cleaning conny roofs, i have been in the industry for many years and would of used all the products that have been mentioned on this post, that is of course in the past as i would of found most of them to be caustic and corrosive and as being a green company can no longer use them, and Dave is right i would not use little waffle cloths for this work. we do have a safe product for this application which is non-caustic and non-corrosive and will not cause any damage to surfaces, but in fairness there are many janitorial suppliers in the UK who can supply safe cleaning detergents that are non-caustic, non-corrosive, which you can dip your brush into and clean the conny roofs without having to use harsh cleaning chemicals like TFRs and truck wash detergent i wont mention any other names, but just check out the msds on the products that have been mentioned on this post and you will see that they are all high alkaline based chemicals which are detrimental to conny roofs, its only a suggestion as i said there are many suppliers in the UK who can supply safe and effective solutions for these tasks.

Out of curiosity what makes things like TFr or virosol detrimental on conny roofs? I have used virosol for many years and the conservatory roofs I have cleaned still look like new, with no damage what so ever.

Hi Jonny, Like I said its only a suggestion to use safer products than high alkaline based chemicals, I used them for years and saw first hand the damage they cause, I am not getting into an argument on the damage that high alkaline based chemicals cause to surfaces, I have done so many times on this forum if you want to read some of my older posts. I have also said before that its up to everyone to use whichever product they choose.
