matrix sdv 8000 steam cleaner
« on: February 12, 2014, 11:03:04 pm »
Hi

I was just wondering if anyone has a commercial steam cleaner and what they use it for.
I bought a matrix sdv 8000 steam cleaner a few months ago second hand and hasn't really had much use since. I know some people use it for chewing gum removal but as I've got lavor boiler and pressure washer that's a lot quicker than the steam cleaner would be plus you'd have it trailing close behind you and a generator to power it too.

If I can't find much use I might end up selling it on and getting another Honda pressure washer or some other equipment I know id use more

Thanks
Ashley

I've decided to sell it on as I don't think we'll get the use out of it.

I'd be look for £2000 or a partial swap for a pressure washer & cash depending what the pressure washer was

Thanks
Ashley

Unless you intend to do a lot of commercial catering type cleans which can be a pain in the arse then yes best get rid.

I had mine years before I actually used it - I have an old Osprey DC3000 but I more than paid for it on the first job. They are really useful when you have to remove gum from busy hotel and train station entrances that run 24 hours.

Yes I was thinking of selling it to buy equipment id use day to day. The trouble I have is currently the geneator I have is only 3.5kva but the steamer is 3800w so I can't use it outside so I'm limited to the places id use it.

I'm just going to see if it sells and what the interest around it would be. Do you think £2000 would be a fair asking price for it?

Thanks
Ashley

Ok thanks ill see if there's any takers for £2000. I might lower it to £1500 or swap for £1500 worth of pressure washing equipment if not many people are interested

Thanks

I found this the other day I think it's the smallest drain jetter in that frame they could have fitted

It went for £937 earlier today  :o

It's only a 5.5hp you'd be lucky to unblock anything with that

Ye the only good thing you'd be able to do is take off the pump sell it on and put a better one or just take it apart. Probably worth £600 in parts possible a bit more depends how much you could get for the 5.5hp jet wash

I think they've searched drain jetter found that and had no clue what they were buying. They'll try to do their first drain and probably be stuck.

My bin cleaning pump is bigger than that and all it does is clean bins not unblock drains

That would be a good buy at £5000. But they're asking too much at £7500.

I offered him £3000 for it. He said "Thanks, but we don't need the money". So I said "Great when can I pick it up then?"
