Leaking van port
« on: February 03, 2014, 04:10:11 pm »
When either filling the tank or cleaning windows, water is dripping or spraying out of the connector in the van port.  This is the connector that's attached to the pipe to and from the van (male connector?), rather than the garden hose (in) or reel hose (out).  I've just tested it and if I unscrew the connector, take it out of the van port, screw it back together then run the pump and clean windows, there are no leaks at all, so using the van port is costing me water and presumably a little bit of pressure.

I can't tighten the connector any more than I have when it's in the van port so maybe the pipe isn't that little bit long enough.  It'll be a pain to keep unscrewing from the port, rescrewing to clean, unscrewing when finished, rescrewing into port for every house I want to clean every day, so can I use PTFE tape on the connector to stop the leak?  Or try something else?
