I'm in the process of switching over to everything WFP. For many years I've just been using the WFP instead of ladders, and doing downstairs trad.

Ive just invested in a bigger van so I can carry more water and work a full day with no problems, so far no one has mentioned it, but had one yesterday ask if I was going to squeegee off the downstairs? Lol. She's was fine in the end after I explained but it just shows you do get some customers who prefer seeing a pad and blade.

I do genuinely feel I'm doing a much more thorough job now with the WFP as the frames get washed down properly and glass drys in crystal clear.

And the big plus is that it's now faster. so I can get through more work and earn a bit more in a day.

I will still do bungalows trad, but if I've got the WFP out for the upstairs then it's going to be used for downstairs too.

Would be interested to hear who on here does everything WFP or do you still do downstairs trad?

ALL WFP!!!

When we converted nearly 2 years ago after 6 years of trad we just bit the bullet and WFP'd EVERYTHING!
Although saying that we have 5 bungalows all next to each other which the old dears want us to trad which we still do, and there are odd windows here and there which dont dry right after being WFP'd so we blade these off.

We thought we'd lose at least 10% of customers on the change over but in reality we lost 3 i think which is a very very small not even worth worrying about percentage!
The bonus you have is they have seen the system before as you do the tops, usual thing which i presume you say is any probs let me know, and pop back pronto to see any issues as you know most of the time its codswallop and people just moaning for the sake of it!!

Yesterday .
I did two houses next door to each other that I Wfp the tops .
The bottoms all trad .
But the bottoms on one means getting the A frame pointer out .

So
I Wfp all the tops as usual , but Wfp the bottom fronts on this house to save me getting the A frame pointer out.

Think I'm just as quick to Trad the bottoms .
However , some conservatories I Wfp the tops as that's quicker in this cloudy dull weather.

I'm getting their , but still like a bit of variety .

Tops - 95% Wfp
Bottoms - 50% Wfp

So I'm nearly there , but I don't really need to be totally Wfp .

Some are better trad , the un-friendly type of window.

If I have to jump over a gate and Wfp the tops , I now Wfp the bottoms as it's easier.

Where i just do front only cleans i always blade off the downstairs windows after poleing them, takes less than a min per house and customers realy appreatiate it. I have even gained new customers off other wfpers as a result of blading off the lower windows.
A quick blade ans seal dry and customers love it. For me its the little things like this that keeps them that much more secure as a loyal customer. On awkward houses i dont bother with but all the easy access which is mostly all i blade and dry sills.

I have only ever done wfp, so all my work, including bungalows, are wfp. I have often meant to teach myself to trad, but it has just never happened!.

I've heard a few people do that. Can't get my head round it to be honest. If I'm going to squeegee off the water after I've already spent my time wiping the frames, then all the glass and ledges, id be quicker just trading the bottom windows all together.

Then again if I charged your prices mick I could afford to take the extra time.

wfp tops mainly, enough water on floors just doing tops atm.    roll on summer when they leave windows opened, headache.     cant turn gardiners backpack waterflow down,   seems a high flow.     ive promised myself this year is van year,  hopefully with a set up installed.   makes no difference as long as price is right
im looking for an IBC tank for now to get a good supply of pure for when i start

A good few years of doing everything trad and doing plenty of nightmare jobs gives a type of experience that I find invaluable. Having the experience and many ways to do a job gives a type of confidence that makes getting new work easier.

Yeah I'd agree. Some windows just need to be done trad, I worked for a company previously before going out on my own and we would do 5 star hotels, offices, loads of places where every window was awkward. It makes you very quick with a pad and blade aswell.

I'm about an hour quicker with my work every day since I've switched to WFP for everything, ground floor etc.

It makes good business sense to use WFP on all your domestic if you have it.

Times my hourly rate by 5 and the extra money I can make every week now.

That's an extra £10 per week!

rainy windy days that arenot extreme i blade windows dry,ive got a lot
of work on major roads leading into birmingham city center and they never
dry clean on these days.takes no time at all to give a basic dry.

In all other circumstances i wfp

Top Tip:

If you are doing insides then wfp the inside kitchen window as the water will run into the sink. An extreme 18 is better for this because it is shorter when closed than a 25 so less chance off knocking Mrs. Lady's best cooking pots, china and olive oil/vinegar set she brought back from Corfu.

im wfpoling nearly all work these days as its just easier and i almost hate wearing a BOAB now!

obviously insides are done trad.also blown ground floor windows and some customers like me to trad ground floor which i have no problem with.

i think most wfp  cleaners that trad ground floor is because they dont carry enough water.

currently i can manage on 300-350L a day but some days i could do with a bit more water hence getting a 500L tank in my next van.
