window cleaners keep your traps shut
« on: January 21, 2014, 09:53:49 pm »
Okay, saw five window cleaners today, new ones, I think for years to many window cleaners have been saying how great there job is, basically boasting, now the market is flooded, eventually it will be windows cleaned every 3 or 4 months for a tenner,
stop boasting, SHUT UP, and maybe the industry can last, think smart, ok rant over

There are certainly a lot more window cleaners about than there were when I started ;D

If the market gets flooded the weak will go to the wall, or back to a cozy factory.  Keep the faith - if it got to the '£10 every 4 months' stage 90% of window cleaners would pack in and leave the field clear for the ones with the nerve to hold out.

How to have a successful cleaning business.

 - Do a good job

- Charge a fair price

Everything else will look after itself.

what do industries do to drop prices, they introduce more competition, that drives the price down in the long run, all im saying is do our job and say nothing, i know other window cleaners in my area that love to tell everyone there earning a fortune even though it might not be true, but people listen.

Its true in a way, I have had few of my old customers drop me because they saw me driving my nice car in shopping centre.   ;D

We turn over twice what we were doing compared to two years ago. You're doing something wrong. There's plenty of work out there.

Lol every 4 months...get a grip customers want clean windows which means 4 weekly 8 at the most defo not 4 monthly...some people worry too much.
If you feel like this then hit the iron whilst its hot and get as many regular customers in your books now so minimal poo will hit the fan if it does get totally flooded with window cleaners..just remember if it does get flooded that only the best will survive as there will be a lot of competition for customers to choose from.

Worked another full day in the pouring freezing rain yes I can see why
everybody would be looking to get into this business.
If I had a tenner for every person who's started up and quit in my area I could take the rest of
the year off.

well im on course for my best earning month EVER in window cleaning!!and its only january!!! :D :D

whatever any window cleaner says its not "easy" money.most newbies get a shock when they realise they cant make enough money at first as its hard getting good regular solid work in the first place.month in/month out to pay the bills.

working in all weathers doesnt suit a lot of people, sorting out tax, insurances,no holiday or sick pay etc, etc.

oh i forgot to mention ITS HARD WORK!!day in/day out.

there are lots of window cleaners in my area.at least 20 i know off.most trad but some are companies with 3 or more vans on the road mainly wfp.

customers pay for YOU!not just the service you provide.if your friendly,do a good job and reliable then you ll do well.

loads of houses out there and lots of them want clean windows but dont/cant do them themselves.thats where we come in!! ;) :) :)
price higher/work harder!

window cleaning a walk in the park  ;D
