I saw this van yesterday and thought it was a bargain considering all the extras included its also got 4 wheel drive which is great for winter!

4 wheel drive best, then fwd as the engine weight is on top of the front wheels (traction)

These ex rac vans are quite cheap compared to other transits. I have got one, but they are tail happy even fully loaded I have put winter tyres on mine to help, but I would sooner have a fwd anyday.

The only trouble with these vans is they have a high ratio diff which means they scream their guts piton the motor way, I think mine is running at 3000rpm at 65mph. Other than that they are good well looked after vans.

That makes more sense, I see you have edited your post, although in the link it does say rear wheel drive

It is 2 wheel drive (rear wheels) as it says 4x2, if it was 4 wheel drive it would be 4x4.

these are the easiest types of transit to work on, labour costs are low, you can change a gearbox on these in 2 and a half hours, the best transits are rear wheel

Do 4x4 Transits still exist ? There used to one in my village, a County version, but they're usually ex-service vehicles.

If you have weight in the back of a van, like a water tank, then rear while drive is actually better than front wheel drive.

Your rear wheels get more traction with the weight, and all they have to do is drive, wheras front wheels have to power and turn at the same time. Not good for traction.
