sold my pole
« on: January 01, 2014, 01:25:13 pm »
What a great end to the year, yesterday phone rang, a lady, very posh, "is your pole still for sale" yes I say.
I had advertised it on gumtree. " I need two, she says, well I only have one, Ill leave it then."
Im thinking, strange.
Anyway 4hrs later phone goes again , still wants the pole,  can she come down now, er ok .
So she rolls up, I show her the pole ,asks how much "£200 please, "ok".
As she drives off pleased as punch I asked her,      why?  "Oh she says I am getting married saturday and need two poles to hold a banner up 30ft high, thank you very much  bye"
 :) ;) ::)roll :o :P
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL, even the bully boys.

Hi Paul     thank you, if I was going to make it up , I think I could have done better than that. Maybe Alex gardiner will be able to contribute in the new year as I will be buying a new 35ft pole in the next week or two from him  making a change from Ionics to see what they are like.

Ah that's a shame.
I know a Dutch canal vaulter who was looking for a new pole and your one looked just the ticket.  :(

Watch my mouth-proper lols.
Cause you're embarrassed.
It was pointed out in the original ad it was massively overpriced. And you got upset by that.
You realise you could've reacted better and have now posted this to try and save face a bit.

Sorry but no one is going to buy a £200 pole to hold a banner up.

She could spend a fraction of that and get an aluminium pole. Unless of course she was having you on.

Darren shut up you xxick with ears

Dave Jonny, look I know that, and you know that, but ours, IS NOT TO REASON WHY.
Only she knows why , but I dont really care .
She is going to try and re sell the 2 poles on ebay in amonth or 2, I was as stunned as you maybe are.
Remember the crap that came my way because the price I was asking but it shows if you dont try you will never get any where. I never thought for one minute that anyone , OTHER THAN, a window cleaner, would buy the pole, but hey ho.

Mega lols!
You're lying fella.
No one really cares if you sold your pole or not.
And everyone now knows you're a liar.
A great days work.

A few rhetorical questions:

A forum of xthousand people-not one of them wanted your pole-why?
A 'lady bought it, for a banner' not a flag. Where did she get the pole for the other side?
Why would she use gumtree rather than google to find a pole?
Why would she pay £200 rather than £25 (a 2 minute google found 6m pole, next day delivery)
Why post you'd sold it?

Like I said, rhetorical, we know the answers.

Darren,  you are one sorry guy, I know this is how you, and a few others get their kicks ,
but please you must grow up now.
I am not bragging, just illustrating how a little piece of luck comes along every now and again.
You must stop attacking forum members in this way, you sound a very bitter man.
Chill out and take things for what they are.
I am sorry that you think this is a lie but hey thats your problem. There really is no need to start calling me a liar that does p me off, wouldnt it you.
The story IS true, sorry.
