Sediment and carbon Filter housings
« on: December 22, 2013, 08:49:50 pm »
Not sure if this is thick thinking so gonna ask anyway...
In my garage i have 2 10 inch housings that i believe were for resin chambers after a 300 gpd ro. Are they just bog standared filter housings or are they made just for resin??.
I dont mean the di vessels i mean 10 inch housing used to put resin in after the 300gpd
Am i right in thinking they are just housing and would work with a carbon and sediment filter with 2 of them??

Not the 300gpd but the single housing next to it.

Could save me a trip to cleaningspot if i can use them.
Cheers.

Yes they will work. The resin filter uses an internal refillable cartridge which is removed and you can fit sediment and carbon filters in either.

However, it now depends what you want to do with them. They will most probably have 1/4" hose inlets which will be too small if you want them for a bigger r/o, ie 4040, as they won't allow enough water through.

In that case you would need filters with 1/2" inlets, and if you are going the bigger 4040 membrane route, then I would go for 20" housings.
