flushing 4040 membrane

just read that i need to disconnect the DI to flush the membrane?

Is this correct?

I never have , with valve fully open mine doesn't produce any pure so no point disconnecting the di

Well it should produce a small amount of water dribbling through and its not pure so it will waste resin

No, never flush, it's bad for the RO.

Yes I disconnect mine as I get a small amount of product water which is disregarded.

My friend has a 4040 from another supplier which doesn't produce product water when flushing so doesn't disconnect.

You'd be surprised how much it eats the resin when you do this.. i have forgotten a few times when flushing.
