You used to clean my windows.....
« on: December 18, 2013, 07:55:30 pm »
Working away today on a road we do 5 houses on .... used to be 8 but Mr Obnoxious sacked me when I went over to WFP as it left marks on the windows but at the time he couldnt show me any windows with marks on (think it was because I wasnt risking life and limb on a ladder and he didnt feel he was getting value for money  :-\)

He took pleasure in telling me my services were no longer required as he had found a "proper" window cleaner who still used ladders and was £4 cheaper than me and over a few months lost the houses either side of  him to his new window cleaner.

Anyhows he aproached DTM today whilst I was working some distance down the road asking what we charged so DTM called me over to give him a price.

So asked Mr Obnoxious why he now wanted to go back on the books and he told me that he has been let down by 3 windies since he binned me off (checked records tonight and last clean was Novemeber 2011 !! )

My initial reaction was to say go forth and multiply and tell your neighbours either side to do the same then remembered I was trying to be more grown up and business minded these days so said yup £16 but cant get to you until January .......... but it used to be £12  says Mr O ........... errr yes but its now £16 says me.

Wonder how long he will be on the books for this time ....... and charged him double for first clean in Jan.

The correct approach in my book.

People bin customers too easily, just charge more. Make it worth your while.  ;D
A manager is generally someone who has been promoted to the position by someone else who didn't see them as a threat.
Hence all people are promoted to the level of their incompetence

I don`t bin customers for petty reasons but once I have lost respect its all over.If they choose to go and not rib salt into the wounds by saying 4 quid less.No mate he will clean his own glass not me.
I have had a customer leave for a cheaper price for the same job.Called to come back the answer was sorry. I only work for customers who appropriate quality work.

I'll take them back,

BUT not if they suggest i'm overcharging and not doing them the proper way.

No need to insult you over the windy cleaning.
