Rectus 21-Alternative?
« on: December 13, 2013, 03:24:44 pm »
Bought some Rectus 21s 2 weeks ago from a local supplier, they are already playing up.. won't connect/water coming when they disconnect/leaking etc. I'm bored with wasting money on these things.

As far as I can see there are 2 alternatives, either Rectus 26 or the plastic ones that Aquadapter sell. Are there any others?

Aren't the Rectus 26 a bit bulky and catch on stuff?

What are the Aquadapter ones like?

I just want some DECENT connectors  ::)roll

What are you using?

Cheers

I've used these as long as I can remember now, supported by one of those foam ball's they last well! If you run two ball's :) then it doesn't touch the floor!

All that kinda sounds a little wrong pmsl.
Life used to be full of up's and downs....now i hardly ever get up a ladder :) .

If you have some spare barb fittings for your inline flow controller disconnect your rectus 21 female fitting and replace it with barb fitting .

Then without a connector on you pole hose you can simply shove pole hose over barb fitting and pull off when needed been using mine like this for 3-4 months now and leaky fittings are a distant memory . Mike

There's always Steve's suggestion of incorporating a washer.

Spot on, if you ask me.

Never been able to post pics on here , If you are using a flow control valve or inline tap such as the EZ- snap hose valve with rectus 21 end stop sold on Gardiners .

Then on the end which your main hose is connected i you have placed your main hose over a brass barbed fitting YES

You need to have one on each end which means you can do away with rectus fittings all together , If you are still baffled i can take a pic tomorrow and email you a pic . Mike
