Halifax scam
« on: March 15, 2006, 07:35:39 pm »
Hi all,

Please be on your guard, when i opened my inbox tonight i had an alleged email from Halifax building society requesting that  i click on the attached link to verify my bank details.

This is obviously a scam i don't even bank with them, please be careful.

Cheers Mark.

thats fair enough . dont blame you. but be VERY careful as i believe sometimes when you open an email like this it can pass on viruses. thats the reason these people send them to you . guess they get a kick out of it ?? so be very careful !! :P

Be very very careful.

Best thing to do is have your JUNK E-MAIL settings set up properly.  You can also report these type of e-mails to your ISP.  Also have a good Anti-virus software package installed on your PC.

Viruses can and will infect your hard drive if you open them.

I bet you run your accounts on your PC.

Virus infection = NO MORE ACCOUNTS!

WHO OWES WHAT?   Have MUCH VAT TO PAY?

AND THE LIST GOES ON & ON & ON!

I think the most important thing you can do is backup all important files daily.
