What is your worst bit of equipment?
« on: December 05, 2013, 03:18:00 pm »
Mine is a Pure Freedom reel. I reckon the hose must snag 10-15 times a day because the gap between the reel and the frame is too wide causing me to go back to the van cursing. Next time I looked online Pure Freedom had removed the reel from sale. Had I been more experience when I bought it I would have sent it back as not fit for purpose.

+1 I've got the same reel mate, absolute wind up (pardon the pun)
I've resorted to bending the metal circular parts with a pair of grips to try to make the gap smaller which has helped a bit but still gets in occcasionally which fuks me right off

Same,  got a cheap 40 foot pole of ebay for £60 2 years ago and now hate it,  its only for high windows but it soooo needs to be replaced next year with a carbon one.  missus wouldn't let me spend this year because of the holiday to Perth next week, but next year its top of the list.. whooo might actually run over the old one just for fun...

The strainer. Necessary but very poorly designed/made. Very frustrating.

What do you find wrong with it Stuart ?
Have used one for years with no problems at all.
Once fitted you just screw off the clear plastic remove and clean the metal filter and put it back in.
Just make sure you clean it when the tanks empty. I do it once a year when I have the tank emptied
