Vyair Pump.
« on: December 03, 2013, 12:44:48 pm »
Would these Vyair pumps be any good instead of using the more expensive Sureflow or Flowjet pumps.....

I have had the 7 lit per min pump for 2 years and going well. The thing I like is the flow rate you can really turn it up one first cleans as flush the dirt of works a treat.AS well putting enough water on flatter conny roofs is a plus factor.

Cheers James, is the 7ltr the best to go for as there's a few to choose from...and what controller would you suggest, 'digital' or 'analogue'.

Some big savings there from Vyair if you buy pump, strainer and controller together....compared to the better known names.

A word of warning regarding vyair pumps.
Don't get me wrong because I like this company and bought my 4040 membranes and pre filters from them, BUT you get what you pay for with pumps. I replaced a shurflo 100 psi pump (over 6 years old) with a similar specced vyair and I needed to replace it within 2 years. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I will not scrimp on a pump again - I have gone back to a shurflo now .
Just my opinion of course, its your money and your choice.

5ltr vyair pump for me,  no controller,  run on full flow.
Never let me four down,  4 years use so far.

Like I said , maybe I was just unlucky, but I won't buy the same pump a second time just to find out, that goes for any pump, be it vyair, shurflo or flojet.
It wasn't that mine packed up, it slowed considerably within a 2 year period , so much that my flow controller had to be on full all the time just for it to work adequately, it didn't become fully apparent just how bad it was until I borrowed a pump off of someone to compare it to.
