Ceased putting stamps on payment envelopes
« on: November 29, 2013, 06:04:18 pm »
About 3 months ago I ran out of stamps whilst working so just put bill and envelope thru doors on that day with no stamps ... the next day didnt have time to go to post office so did same again ... fast foward 3 months and a lot more customers are paying online with only a handful still using cheques.

Saved me a few quid as well into the bargain.

Over a year will save me about £700 to £800

Well worth trying lads  :)

I leave a self addressed envelope with a bill attached with instructions to pay by bank transfer for idiots (oldies and some of the youngsters) or alternatively pay by cheques. Never put a stamp on it as I'm trying to discourage paying by cheques in favour of online and bank bill payments to reduce paperwork and trips to the bank so often. Much prefer bank transfer payment as customer can print a receipt off, I can check they've paid and don't have to pay and wait for cheques to clear :)

LOL. i leave a invoice and move on.  they tend to pay after 3 or 4 months when they see the bill going up and up.  I found some do it once and then they all pay online or send a cheque.

wouldnt dream of leaving a envelope, god forbid also a stamp....

Wouldn't dream of letting them go 3 or 4 months without paying.

I've never provided stamps.
Old gaffer used to.
I print a little 'don't forget your stamp' in a stamp sized box on the envelope.
Had a few still forget and end up having to pay the £1 at the post office.
Now if I get a slip from the postie I go to the post office and ask to see the envelope before I pay.
If it's one of mine I don't accept it.
Payment not received and add outstanding to customers bill.
Very, very few & far between now though.

I print mine.
150 white envelopes for £2.
Logo behind the printed name & address.
Easier than doing stickers imo

I run and collect from all those houses within a three-mile radius of where I live.

I can do three-to-six miles on a collection night.

All the rest pay by post or online.

Sad aren't I?
