An meny heater for me,

Cheap and cheerful. On my second winter with it.

Little but more water flow needed to kick it in, but it's a great reliable bit of kit.

With regards to the Safefill gas bottle, Jet in Marske won't allow you to fill them up. That was a while ago so the policy may have changed.

Morrisions in Redcar won't allow you to fill them either. I asked a couple of weeks ago. This seems to contradict the views of members on a motor home forum who confirmed that Morrisons will allow Safefill gas bottles to be filled at their LPG garages.

Might be worth a call to Jet to make sure. The closest Safefill approved center is in Darlington if memory serves me which defeats the saving filling up with LPG.

Other point is that Safefill gas bottle can't be 'bolted' down.

I haven't investigated the possibilty of using a Safefill bottle with an external LPG filler on the rear bumper. The law states that LPG must not be filled inside the vehicle for safety reasons.

Fitting an LPG vapour tank (Gasit) is probably another way to go. Gasit also do a 'conventional' gas bottle that can be connected to an external filler. I'm not sure if this should be housed in a separate container vented to the outside.

I have been using a L5 for years now, bought 2 ,one as a back up.Its still in the loft lol.
Thing I don't like about using these is the 20 min cut out timerand the fact I have to return waterback to the tank to get my waterflow down ,as I don't use a very high flow rate.Where I do this shutting of the pole tap does not stop the pump as it still pumping back to the tank , so my heater goes out every 20 minutes.
Apart from that Hot is very nice to use in the winter .

Can anything be done about the 20 min cut off? And how long do you have to wait for it to work again?

Why is the 20 minute timer such an issue?

I would have thought it was a good thing as its there to protect the heater. I can't recall when I ever ran the pump and brush cleaning windows for more than 20 minutes. I haven't enough strength to keep that work rate up.

I haven't a gas heater but I've been trying to understand this.

Daz (and I) have the new model, which doesn't have the 20 minute cut off.

May be im getting to old for this game and it takes me longer ;D
On bigger properties I start warm and by the end of the job its cold water.I also clean a lot of large jobs over the 20 minute timer , this is one reason why I was looking at the webasto option.
