I've bought a reach and wash system 2nd hand...

Basically I bought the tank, the pump and it has the filters on the tank.

I know I need a new part for the salt back wash and a new 30 inch blue DI (as it is now brown and says that is an indication it may need changing)...

Just wondered if anyone could meet up and show me if I need anything else and just give me a quick explanation of how which filters work in which way and how and when to use the salt back wash canister.

I know i need brushes and poles and reels etc.

Please email me clearshinecleaning@hotmail.co.uk

I really appreciate any advice or help guys so thanks in advance!

I've also purchased a TDS meter and tested my water at home which is measuring 225ppm  so I know this is very high

Dane, if is an Ionic system, give them a ring and tell them what you have. They will send you information on how to maintain, flush, and generally use the system.
if you get it wrong it can drive you mad. Ionic are very helpful.

Thanks for your replays guys...

Yes it is an ionic system tom. I was going to call them before I hassled anybody on here but I wasn't sure if I had to have bought the system directly from them for them to have helped. I know they would of sold me the parts but I wasn't sure if I would of had to go on one of their training courses about the system that they provide when customers buy a system.

I'll give them a go.

Again many thanks for your time

I have had two second hand Ionic systems Dane and each time Ionic have been great in nterms of help and advice. Is it a Pro5/6 or something else?
Once you have it set up and get the hang of running the salt through, backwashing etc it is easy. Just takes a bit of time.

It's a pro 5. I contacted them and they emailed me a Manuel within 5 mins, I had a quick look at it earlier and it seems pretty informative, a good hour reading and playing about and I should have worked it out. Thanks for the advice guys
