im having problems with the pump not shutting off when i turn my tap off.it carries on running for about a min with the heater still going causing a lot of heat and pressure which is blowing my connectors off.

ive tried lowering my cal to 25 with flow on 60 but it just keeps running and running.if the connectors stay on, when i turn my tap back on i get a big surge of water for about 10 seconds then it calms down a bit.

i need to get this sorted for tomorrow although im off out now to my girlfriends shop to help her change the window displays for xmas plus im cleaning inside and outside of it with my trad pole,mop and squeegees!

nathanael told me to turn the little allen key screw on the pump(shurflo 100psi)but the allen key ive got is too big.my girlfriend might have one though.i have to faff about and take my pump off the fittings in my pumpbox to reach it!

anything else i could try lads as its doing my head in!

ive got a busy month ahead with lots of work due.

Is the pressure switch wired in? If not then put your allen keys away.

If you have a varistream digital controller then you may struggle to reduce the pressure fast enough due to the fact that you can only adjust it whilst it's turned on. You'll be faffing about whilst the pump is still putting more and more pressure in.

If you get the analogue spring controller then you can adjust it on the fly it will also work through the pressure switch.

Other than that you could run it cooler for now.

what are the setting on your boiler dazmond,  I had this problem, and what it is, is that the boiler is filling up and that is why the pump wont switch off, till all the pressure has built up again,  try messing with the flow on the boiler, to about half way,  I run my digi pump on flow of 65  gas low and flow on boiler at about half way,

I have 2 reels off one pump. The flow is set at 80 and the CAL at about 40 and when the reels are hot the pump only takes no more than 10 seconds for the DE to cut in. Have fit another controller you can try? The digital controllers have the same amount of control over the DE as the analogue ones it just not as quick to alter it.

Have you tried doing an auto CAL when the hoses are hot. Once you have the auto cal set then keep knocking the cal down until the DE cuts in with the flow still turned on the gradually adjust it back up until the pump will keep running.

First thing in the morning your water and hoses will be cold so you may find your pump does the opposite for a while (won't run continuously). What I do is stick the hose back into the tank and let it run for a while to heat the hose up to the previous nights temperature otherwise you'll be fiddling with the cal again

cheers for the tip dave.ill try that in the morning.its forecast to be 1 or 2 degrees here in the morning so the hot water will help!

steve ill turn the temperature down a notch.50 degrees was a bit too hot methinks!!

chanster i bought mine from corwoods £180 including VAT.no 20 min cut off.gonna use it for the first time today on my work.

it will make work more comfortable in cold weather as hoses can be a nightmare when is cold.

you can buy similar heaters on ebay for about £120.

connections and hoses have to be tight but after all the faffing about i think im getting there!

I was looking at the heaters from Corwoods. Do they come with all the correct hosing/pipes or did you have to buy that separate?

sham33 it comes with gas regular and high pressure hose for lpg.a few connectors and 2 batteries(athough ive put duracell ones in).

you ll need thermobore hose or equivalent,radiator or boiler hose from hot outlet to reel and a good robust reel if you havent already got one.ive also upgraded the reel connectors to rectus 26 fittings.

it works like a dream after a few teething problems!
