Aquadapter v lite poles
« on: November 03, 2013, 08:37:30 am »
Hi guys

Looking to buy a new pole and was thinking either another slx22 which is £188 plus vat and weighs 1340 grams or the new v lite22 aquadapter pole which is £199 plus vat andweighs 1430 grams not sure if it comes with a aquadapter or not.

Any opions welcome

Hi Oliver

Why not order one and let us all have a test go. Your could also order a Facelift Phoenix 22 and we could compare that as well.

Just think how many window cleaners you would be helping with your knowledge in the local area.

Go on, you can afford it!

The weights will be for the pole on its own.

I'd imagine they do as it's  from the same company and the pole will be purpose built for it.
Surprised there slightly dearer than the slx - competition and all that
Thought it would be the same money .

Good to see the pole market hotting up , all bodes well for us buyers.

Good luck to AD

Now have facelift, gardiners and aqua adaptor to choose from

All the poles come with a aqua dapter.

As far as I can see there's only 2 ways to challenge Gardiners poles. Beat them on price for a similar quality pole or a pole that's a bit more expensive but is obviously better quality.
Till someone manages that it'll be Gardiners for me ;D

I have two aqua adaptors and been superb for me.
As for AD poles , I'm sure over the next 3 months or so views will be posted on here.
Gardiners vs VLITE

Carbon section sections will be very similar
AD on one - some would prefere that
Brush - a lot of variety from gardiners

It's all on the clamps for me , gardiners have sorted the spinning issue , but the actual operation of a gardiner clamp can be at times awkward . If aqua adaptor has sorted a good clamp out then could be a big plus .
Personally I prefere the vertical clamps for ease of use .especially as I'm recovering from my left hand broken .

both are very good at CUSTIE service , so to me the CONSUMER. Are the winners

I think I would stay with the SLX TBH.

I don't know where these poles originate from but they look like Xinbo poles (www.composite-china.com). If they are then Xinbo also supply the lateral clamp with spring tension.
Not sure how that fits in with Gardiner clamps patent though. The V-lite pole video doesn't elaborate on the clamps.

Its like anything, it needs time in the market place to test its long term durability.

From a marketing point of view they haven't got their pricing right IMHO. To get their poles into the market they need to be cheaper - an introductory price. They have no supplier credability to back their range of poles as this is their first attempt as a supplier of their own product. We don't know where they come from, so we don't know if they are any good. The video tells us nothing that is specific to them - there is nothing new as Gardiner and Facelift can say exactly the same about their range. They are asking us to buy an expensive product in good faith. (I'm not saying that Aquadapter would supply a poor product considering their retail and manufacturing history. I have the upmost respect for them as manufacturers and suppliers.)

When Facelift introduced their new pole, they had their previous manufacture heritage to fall back on. Gardiners developed our end of the market based on a carbon product at an affordable price.

One thing I will say is that my son's old SLX25 has a bigger diameter base than my SLX22. I don't find it that comfortable to use TBH. So this is something I would also need to consider very carefully.

I agree. The Aquadapter has been the best thing since sliced bread for our market. I love them. However, they did have teething problems with the MK1 which they handled brilliantly - but they had manufacturing issues none the less.

Not so easy because it would have been done already if it was.
Why would they bother about copy rights?
They'll make it your behalf but just try selling a rip off Gardiner pole in the UK.

Yes, I also rate the A/D very highly. But there is a big difference between their Aquadapter they built their name on and the C/F poles they are going to supply.

Remember the Ford Edsel.
