TACCA National advertising campaign
« on: October 31, 2013, 08:47:49 pm »
My mate who is a TACCA member says he's been expecting some National advertising from the organisation but nothing has materialised as yet. Does anyone know when the campaign will start and to what degree?

I think Derek will quite rightly be charging a membership fee long before that happens.

National advertising will cost a lot of money. At the moment TACCA is a free to join organisation so to expect any national advertising to be undertaken is unrealistic. Their website obviously offers this on the web. Not sure what their plans for the future is but the trouble is when you start asking people to put their hands in their pockets a lot of them run for the hills.

Have to say the tacca website is working for us, had about a dozen jobs from it this year, seems to be coming up first page in many areas.

Also passed jobs to other members in liverpool and london for some of my customers 2nd homes so I would be one that would be happy to pay

It don't pop up here on the first 6 pages of Google round here and why would it?
Why would it pop up first page anywhere?
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

John, Google will be looking at it as an industry "authority" site. It has loads of links from cleaning websites and (I would imagine) lots of returning visitors. This makes it a trustworthy site in Google's eyes.

In reality that means that pages from the site will be boosted from that authority and will show up quite well in local (especially less competitive) searches. This authority will often trump smaller niche sites such as those chasing one keyword.

I've never been able to get the TACCA site to rank in Wigan, although it does for other cleaners in nearby towns.

It shows that the TACCA site has good taste then Simon...

Like anything sensible it does not want any association with Wigan..  :P

One thing that could be done through TACCA is commission some market research to try and find out why the vast majority of people never get their carpets cleaned on a regular basis. Is it that they don't think it is important? Have they had their carpets cleaned before and been disappointed? Never thought about it? Think it is a waste of money? I don't know the answer but armed with that information we could start to target that dormant market and potentially bring huge benefits to all. It would mean passing the hat around though and perhaps the results would only be shared with those that participate.

Robert, no not that. I think that was the footage from the BBC documentary. I used to do the "Oldies"allnighters there and "Mister M's" (separate club within the Casino - more soul, less show offs). Train from Nuneaton or the bus from Redditch then midnight till eight. I think I was the only one not taking something. The drug squad couldn't believe it when they searched my bag and found a box of sandwiches! Halcyon days.

Re TACCA.

Derek has done a fantastic job but surely national advertising is a step too far?

The cost could well be astronomical whilst the immediate returns could well be tiny.

National advertising, why spoil a good thing?
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Is the woolsafe scheme not trying to get people who don't clean there carpets to start by giving a free spotter bottle and the call outs in the hope that you will convert them to regular customers.

When I was on this organizations Face Book Membership page , I asked The President if I would be expected to contribute to The National Advertising Campaign

The President replied YES and if I was not prepared to Contribute this was no place for me.

Being an Honorable person I left
