I sealed all round the ply boarding with mastic and painted it with non slip deck paint designed for boat decks.  The paint cost me £10 (+ a wood primer first £5)

I don't spill a great deal of water in the back, just drips from brushes mainly.  If there was a major leak from the tank, them it would go out through the door seals which aren't watertight.  The design of the van prevents the front getting wet unless it was about 8" deep in water

I painted the floor of my van with protectkote, and then brought some rubber matting so it wouldnt chip off
May not necessary, i dont know, but theres no harm in having it down just incase

I saw paint like that a few months ago.   I am interested with that.

I just used Plywood and put Plastic flooring on it and build wee frame units in the vans.

Had my van 2 years no rust in mine...I don't bother painting it as long as you don't have a leaky system it's not gonna rust

Van came with some sort of plastic - rubber floor cover so result really !!!

I did but wouldn't bother again, it is far simpler and cheaper to address the cause = prevent the leaks, use quality hose and fittings.

Protektakote is brilliant stuff - I'd highly recommend it.

The problem with rubber mats or ply lining is that moisture will eventually get under it no matter how careful you are,.. and once its there it can't escape, so rust could happen even faster,

Painting directly onto the metal is the best method IMO, and then protecting that seal with rubber mats is sensible too.

As Nat says, paint with Protektacote and put matting on top
