Have been asked to quote this building.





This is 2 sides but the other 2 are the exact same.

Boom will be required, been asked to quote the whole building.

How much do you think? Its not even really that dirty.

How would you apply the chemical? Spray on end of brush?

Also would you use pure water or just tap water?

If you can get 2 of you, one in front with chemical solution pumped as if WCing.
Then one behind doing the same job but with water.
Pure would leave it nicer but it's not critical...

I was thinking virosol but use what to pump up the chemical that high??

G101 or TFR I'd use.
I've only ever read about virosol on here, not used it myself.
Pump-the same one you use for WCing. Sureflow 100psi.
Use it with chemical, when you've finished run a few litres of pure through it.
If you haven't got 2, buy one. Handy to have if you get the job (or another) again but handy to have as a spare. Price it into the job.

Janitol wash and wax. Used for car body work mainly. If the building isn't too dirty, two wfp's, first one with chemical, second to rinse (or use telescopic pole for application of chemical if you use a one man system). We used it on event cabins for large event during construction works, came up a treat.

That would come up ok with just wfp

How effective are the chemicals to use. I have a job to do with black drain stains around window areas and doubt tfr will make any difference at all. Or am I wrong ? Tried just wfp in one trial area at ground level and no matter how hard you scrubbed did n't touch it.

I did a very similar building. Used a pressure washer and m e w p. Came up v well.

i would see if i could hook up to an outside tap as your gonna use a hell of a lot of water on that job.virosol in a pressure sprayer pumped up to the max.

2 days one man.

id go in at a day rate(£200-£250 per day)

Can't see anything in the pics that g101 won't remove

Better as 2 man with 1 leading with chem solution but spraying on will be ok will just take longer and may no be as consistent on the finish

Dazmond so estimate on time is more realistic for 1 man or a full day for 2 men either way charge accordingly to your day rate

I did a similar building in grimy Avonmouth for a car manufacturer in June 2012 - it was about rectangular 100 metres on the long sides and 60 on the short but fewer windows. It's hard to tell but I reckon "my" building was grimier than yours it wasn't a showroom but a preparation plant only. Plus outbuildings and gatehouse.

I used their tap water with a hundred metres of garden hose which reached two sides of my building. I also had my trailer with a 200L tank and my van with a 650L.

I used their G101 which they use for prepping cars and said you supply that and tap water and I'll clean between jobs over the course of a month. (Summer = long daylight opportunities).

I used 200L of G101 and loads of tap water over a month. I got two family members in on the Jubilee bank holiday to help.

Once I got a rhythm going I reckon it took me and dan the man 6 hours to do 50 metres. The cladding stopped three feet from the floor on a brick base and varied between 20 and 25ft high depending on where the apex of the roofs were.

The building sides were a different level of grime depending which way they faced and so the mix of G101 to water was between 4 to 1 and 8 to 1.

I used SLX/SLX extreme with vikan brushes with the brushes cut to the profile of the building and G101 man would scrub with a mix from the trailer and I would come behind with tap water about ten minutes behind. We had a back pack and four barrels with pure to finish off windows.

One week they let me chain my trailer on site and I arranged to be allowed to come and go as I pleased which I did on earlies and showery days.

I would go higher and not care if I got it. That will be 2 days of non stop hard work (assuming 2 days). If i normally got £200 a day and had plenty of work, why on earth would I want to work like a dog for two days for the same as I get at a leisurely pace. That will be harder than cleaning windows.

I would go £800 your arms would be shot, but just enough left in them to pick up that cheque

I charged and got thousands. But I accept my job is probably three times as long in man hours as yours will be.

2/3 days should be plenty and then the rest of the week off to rest.

Wfp pole will be fine use the cladding brush from Gardiners it's fantastic! If you can use hot water even better.
