Just got my water bill for six months
« on: October 25, 2013, 04:30:56 pm »
 £719 for fecks sake!

Volume charge 209 cubic metres................. £2.17 per metre = £454.03
Standing charge                                                                             11.11

Sewerage on 209 cubic metres ...................£180.36 per metre = £376.95
Less 39% not returned to sewer ................£147.01 cr
Standing charge (sewerage) .......................£24.53

My business has consumed 132 cubic metres since April 4th the rest is household use. The bill runs from April 23rd so I've used a bit less than 132.

Must be cleaning a lot of windows Dave if you are using that much water.  ;) Look at this way, it's £30 a week. Now how much do you turn over in a week? And it's tax deductible, so you can take 29% off that. I assume you budget for it in your cashflow? Otherwise it would be a hit  :(

We are not on a water and use ro's i am assuming a 40/40 produces less waste but the filters are more money?

Should be tax deductible as it is a business cost, but still a difficult pill to swallow.
Thought about rain water harvesting, could be the way forward

I have always thought about doing and especially as I live in Scotland.

Has anybody done this?
