hi been cleaning trad for nearly 20yrs the ol knees are beginning to play up so moving over to WFP just purchased pure freedom trolley system, aim to do one more clean traditionally to prep the frames and to notify customers of the change to WFP.

there`s one job i do on a Working Mans Club that has a catering trailer below some windows that iv never been able to do with ladders, as you can imagine the frames and glass are thick with grease & fat residue from the trailer below. what would be the best way to tackle these to bring them up clean?

Oh boy that's gonna be a crud job.

I would certainly cover the glass and frame with a strong soapy solution and if possible use a sacrificial brush to remove as much grease as poss ( WFP and grease don't mix )

Then clean by using g101 to brighten up the framework and then rinse heavily

For fear of being shot down in flames - you haven't done them before so why bother now?

Those windows are going to be full of baked on. dried grease as you say. WFP won't remove that, even with a little help from a degreaser.

When will you do them? The food trailer will always be there when you want to clean their windows, so they won't want to have water and stuff spraying down all over them.

Or,... if you decide to have a go anyway, Tony, you could try, Traffic Film Remover. I've found that particular product to be very effective at removing stubborn grease deposits in the past.

Hi thanks for replies, the Windows above the trailer belong to there offices which I no from past conversations that they would like to have cleaned if possible. Yes not looking forward to it, and at the end of the day they'll be charged for it. I'd probably have a dedicated brush head just for that job, it's still a case of how to do it? Would the traffic film remover work on grease? Perhaps I could apply straight to the brush? Tony

That's what I'd do Tony. TFR is a powerful emulsifying agent.

Mix a seperate barrell of tfr or sugar soap for that window
It will last ages if only for one window
then rinse with pure
I used sugar soap for years whilst painting and decorating and it's perfect for these type of jobs

strong mix of tfr would do the job  ...its what they use on lorrys

Tony take your angle adapter into Asda or Tescos and get a flocked Bently brush for a couple of quid. Try your adapter on them as they don't all fit. If you have a garden sprayer you could pre soak the window first or apply some TFR to the brush and scrub.
All the best with that as cooking oil is tough to remove.

virosol neat on your brush should help and lots of scrubbing and rinsing.
