[GB Window Cleaning]

So I'm wfp for 95% of my work. But just looking to see hoaw many trad Windies clean in the rain

its their own fault,they wont wear waterproofs or coats what can i do!

You should be giving them waterproofs under PPE laws.  Plus I clean in light - semi light rain but got to watch the safety if ladders get wet

i am giving them waterproofs-ive 4 full sets and modern type too its not like im givin them an old sack

would you insist they wear them ? i personally dont wear waterproofs

We wear a uniform from polo-shirt to jacket and then if it's raining then option to wear them.  However if they moan they wet then I say "I gave you waterproof to wear not for show" which they then shut up and carry on.   But we get a lot business from just on lunch or in street when wearing the jumpers as I got on back "Ask me about cleaning?"

I would clean in heavy rain with WFP depending on height of clean.

Your choice I hate getting wet so anything more than a drizzle it's tools down

Luckily over this way rain days ( all day heavy rain ) are relatively few so we catch up the following day

I am not a fan of working in the rain, but will work in light drizzle. Anything heavier and I stop and either let the shower (if that's what it is) blow over, or go home if it's persistent, and catch up later.

Most of my customers wouldn't want to see me anyway either if it is raining, or even  in some cases,if they've heard that it will be later in the day.

im a firm believer in if you have work scheduled  that day to just get on with it in all but the worst of weather.this means working in light,medium and even heavy rain if its coming straight down with no wind.obviously if its prolonged heavy rain with strong wind then i enjoy the time off and dont worry about it.

most work is wfp but i trad ground floor windows on some properties most days.if any customers dont want me to clean because its forecast rain later on when its dry when im out get dumped straight away.i cant be doing with customers like that.you dont need them.

trust me!customers get used to it after a while and pay up if in and even make you a brew if they have time.your bank balance will be healthier and you keep on top of your workload.its a win win situation.

My take on it is that it's a business and its purpose is to make money.
If you work regularly in moderate raion or less, some customers will drop you.  However, you replace them.
Eventually you have a round full of customers who know you work in moderate rain.
Finances are better that way.
It's OK to empathise with a customer but thinking like a customer is not good business IMO.

if a window cleaner turned up at my house in this wind and rain I would tell him where to go sorry, we need to have a rainy day fund and put your feet up.

Why would you send him/ her away because it's raining? I don't understand.

If its not raining now I can assure you it is going to rain soon it doesn't matter if it raining when U are doing them or it rains ten minutes after U leave it is going to rain on them windows before the week is out all this goes back to the day when window cleaners used to use damp scrim to rag them and it would smear the windows in the rain. I have noticed through time that what really dirties the windows is strong wind and rain together and also being near a busy rd U get one old moany house wife in a whole estate and we let it put us off I have actually had a tip from a customer for doing it in the rain so wash on people

i had an easy day scheduled in for today(930am-2pm).all work cleaned despite some very heavy showers and wind!i had a block of housing association granny flats to clean first thing.customers were coming out in droves to pay me before id even started cleaning!

even picked up 2 new customers.one paid 3 months upfront and gave me a £2-50 xmas tip!earliest one ive had in 20 years of window cleaning!

all work cleaned wfp though.no trad tools came out of the van!
