It varies, because I use a varistream controller, a bit like the accelerator on the van.

Varies between 1.5 - 2 litres per min.

If I'm doing regular maintenance stuff, a steady 1.5.

If its new(so needs a good scrub), up to 2.

Or...

If I'm bored and I just want to get on to the next job, up to 2 it goes, and I motor along, if the windows are fairly good condition I find at 2 litres per min. Theres no need to rinse, I just belt along...especially if no-one home 8)

That appears to sort me out then , the trolley system bangs out 2 LPM .
The van mount was on 3 LPM , just knocked it back to 2 LPM , THAT SHOULD MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE NOW

Rich

do you use pencil or fan spray nozzles
I'm wondering if you cut it back to 2lpm you'll take longer to rinse

Chris , i do use the pencil jets , that was my concern with the rinsing , when i first got the van mount going i was on 1.5 LPM , i then upped it to 2 LPM and found that to be a lot quicker to work with , somehow it had jumped up to 3 LPM on its own , thing is now , im used to 3 LPM !

I was thinking about a change to fan jets , are they a lot better to rinse with ?

Chris , from what ive seen of fan jets on here they seem to really coat the glass well , it would seem they have a larger area of glass getting hit by the water at once , i suppose the only way to find out for sure is smash open our little piggy banks and take the plunge !

How much are they from cleantech ?

I dont know about smashing open the piggy bank

I called Clentec earlier this week because the fan nozle were £1.50 each and std del was £8.50 and didnt want to pay that for del on £3.00 so they said to my suprise they would send them out to me in std post and because of the low cost of the goods wouldnt charge me now but would put the cost onto my acc and add them when i next order something

hats of to them there fantastic

P@F, Make sure its the low pressure nozzle you ask for, or like me you will be sent the hi pressure ones. cleantec  re-sent the low pressure nozzles and holders and did not want the high pressure ones back.So anyone in here wants them just let me know. For nothing of course.WARNING though never put the nozzle tips into the holders until its fited first in the brush head,as you cant realease them.

Just measured the flow on my matabi backpack.
Its 4 litres a min.
It will run two poles with an adapter.
Shunt think the water would last long tho.  ;D

I used to use 1ltr a minute but now use 1.5 ltrs a minute anything more than that and my variflow unit keeps stopping the pump for a second or so.
I have adjusted the variflow a few times but it still does it.

Just trawling through a few backposts and found this ...... I thought I would revive this post and see if our rates/idea's, equipment or experiances have changed our usage.... Given that alot of us now use 'pole' hose on reels and other doohickys to control water usage etc.

Whats are your settings and why have you chosen those?, do you vary them say for different brushes, amount of jets?

Do you make changes for the seasons?, does the fact you use 'hot' affect your decisions for flow.....

Todays nerdy half hour comprised of:

80 meters of minibore, 100psi shurflow pump, fully charged 1 month old 60amp/h battery

Gardiners Liquid Logic analogue pump controller fed from tank with standard garden hose and a small in line filter prior to pump.

Controller zero'd/reset so that 10 matches the spot on the dial...reason there is some fudge play in the dial so this is the best method I can think of to keep the setting 'standard'.

1 Litre container: (each fill was repeated 3 times)
Setting 3, 46 seconds 1000ml / 46seconds = 21.74ml per/sec x 60 seconds  = 1.3 litres per min
Setting 4, 40 seconds 1000ml / 40 seconds =25,00 ml per/sec x 60 seconds =1.5 litres per min
Setting 5, 35 seconds
Setting 6, 31 seconds
Setting 7, 29 seconds ....Please if my maths is out here.... correct it .... cheers

My favorites are setting 3 or 4....

..... obviously we are talking about my fat-sausage fingers having to stop and start a stop watch at the exact time.... but lets be honest we are not bothered about nano-seconds are we.

Cheers Dave.

One day i might get round to timings and find out for sure what im getting at the brush end, but;

I use a sureflow 5lpm 100 psi pump on a fully charged 110amp 12v battery.
Through a microbore hose and into the all weather 6mm (internal dm) yellow gardiner hose into 6 x 1mm pencil jets spread evenly within a 14inch brush.
Using a flowmaster digi standard pump controller from purefreedom on a flow rate of 80.

The large brush gives great coverage of a window and the number of jets gives a good coverage and flow.

Wow , what an old thread , i was a newbie !
I now run shurflo 3.8LPM 100psi pump , streamline controller set on 90 , 100m Gardiner green  ,  red Gardiner fans .
This gives me 1.7 LPM at brush head .
