Solar panel cleaning
« on: October 12, 2013, 12:09:39 pm »
Just a small job we carried out last week  ;D

My wrists hurt my palms hurt and my lower back hurt!

Took 2 of us 7 hours to do using about 1000L of water, would have been less but my old man had his flow on to high and went through 500L in about 3 hours  >:(

Bloody boring after a few hours  ;D

New found respect for guys who clean thousands of them a week!

Cleaning time was 5 hours, 1 hour for lunch and 1 hour (in total) sorting out the hose as it snagged on everything!

There was a 1000 panels, each panel took on average 30 seconds to clean using a litre a minute.

Installation only been in 12 months so not that dirty  8)

Where I live on the East Devon, West Dorset border there are 4 solar farms with a another couple under construction. One site is already 35 acres and growing - don't know how many panels but it's certainly in the thousands. Don't know who cleans them though ?

Solar Steve does because only he is qualified to do so.
