paul i work on £30-£40 an hour on regular domestic window cleaning.i earn more an hour on some large domestics and commercial though.

i have no idea how much to charge mate as i wouldnt drive 30 mins to a job and 30 mins back.all my work is within 10 miles.most within 6 miles from home.

most of my commercial are £50-£60 an hour jobs.(medium size offices).

add on jobs are also £50-£60 an hour as they are harder work and take me away from my regular window cleaning work.

best wishes

cheers

I don't mind travelling for large commercial ... Traveling is costed in so it's not as though I lose out and I quite enjoy a bit change of location ..

Forgot to say this one will have the cost of a new pole factored into it too and spread over the 12 months  ;D

Cheers

just wondering how much you charge for UPVC cleans on regular window cleaning customers.standard smallish 3 bed semis with no conservatory.

includes soffit/facia/outside gutters, garage door(if they have one) and outside downpipes.im currently charging £50-£60 and they take around an hour to clean then the window price on top.

ive cleaned a fair few this spring and summer.good little add on jobs.i usually hook up to customers outside tap with my 20m of extension hose.sill brush on a resi neck and squirt a bit of virosol on brush or fascia before hand.some think im too expensive so decline but most go for it.it makes their property so much nicer to look at! ;) ;D ;D

I've found it very dangerous to offer a clean at £50 to £60, for existing customers more so.
If they're existing customers then they'll already have all their frames washed down etc.
We generally will not take a customer on without charging a premium for the first clean, which could be more or less than what you've quoted. Some upvc does come up like new after a water wash, others need UPVC cleaner etc applying to the windows by ladder. If this is the case then we usually break down the price to make it more affordable. i.e this month we clean all the front up, next month we clean all the side or back up etc.. But then i'm digressing a bit as this would be for new customers as existing (like you asked about) would have already been done on the first clean and subsequent cleans? I suppose also it depends upon how you market your service,if you say all windows cleaned and upvc frames also, then it leaves your question of how much for a UPVC clean looking more like how much for gutters and soffits. How longs a piece of string?

HI Danny, how do you get a fixed price for your garage doors? We've found that flat panel ones are easier to clean than the ribbed type hence we charge a premium for the ribbed type.
Also we've noticed that the larger doors take longer to clean than the smaller doors, so we always do a careful measurement beforehand. We seem to have nailed it down to £0.55 per sq metre for a wash, £1.05 per sq metre for a deep clean with a loading of £0.25 per sq metre (across the board [pardon the pun])for ribbed types.

I clean with brush soap and water and that is my maximum charge.

If the doors are larger than average the fee increases but £25 is for standard door. If its flat its still £25 but easier to clean.

I don't clean on size but on estimated time. I usually leave one lad to do the doors while other crack on with rest of house.

we all run our businesses different including pricing.if a regular customer wants me to clean their garage door on a smallish semi then i charge £5.it takes 5 mins! ;D ;D

cleanclear you do make me laugh!whats dangerous about offering upvc cleans for £50-£60? ;D ;D

true! regular customers have their frames, doors, sills cleaned as well as glass every time which makes the rest of the house look dirty after a few years!soffits/fascias/outside gutters/downpipes,panelling starts to look bad!so i offer to clean them for............you know whats coming!.......£50-£60! ;D ;D ;D ;D

£25 for a garage door, you must be joking!
I charge between £2 and £5 for these, they take minutes, I even throw them in as a freebie sometimes to keep the customer sweet.

Just going to change over to wfp so interested in all these different charging structures etc. I must admit, some of the prices sound great, however, the garage door comment cant be serious. £25.00 to clean a garage door that takes about 5 mins (10 at best) if i told some of my customers that it would cost them that they would tell me where to stick my pole for sure.  :)

ive never understood why people dont want to clean gutter fascia etc
its easy money

small terrace front and back £40 takes me less than hour

3 bed semi £30 a side =£60-£90 over a hour

detached which i rarely do £120 around two hours maybe more sometimes

i normally clean a couple of week..would like them everyday

easy set up...generally plug into customers tap and away you go

two £90 semis a day im not greedy i would chuck garage door in for
free, then would happily trip off home  talk about easy life :)

They are sometimes very hard work. Over a conny especially. However, I have taken on board what some have said regarding pricing and will quote very high for them from now on.

Just asking again on this subject.
I assume by the comments that you guys dont use your water "filtered water" for the fascia boards and gutters as no need and just normal tap water will do the job? i assume that if doing windows you then switch to pure water tank.

Finally, what is the best brush for doing the majority of these jobs as i wouldnt want to use the same brush as i use for the windows, wouldnt want loads of grit and crap in it. Some of the fascia boards are difficult to get underneath the gutter, so which is the best brush guys?

Thanks in advance guys.

hi steve i normally plug into customers outside taps with my 20m of extension hose that i have specifically for add on jobs like conny roofs and UPVC cleans.not always though.

i find the medium bristle radius sill brush on a resi neck from gardiners perfect for these jobs.i use my extreme pole which makes things easier due to the lightness and rigidity.

i also either spray virosol directly on my brush just before cleaning or on the fascia/soffit/guttering/conny roof using a 5l pressure sprayer.

and yes i switch back to pure when cleaning their windows after finishing the job. ;) :)

hope that helps

on an average semi i charge £35 per side  and have no problem getting this price

i resent the idea that i am ripping custys off with these prices, i clearly give the custy the price and what is involved with the job and its up to them whether they want to take my service on or not .

I charge £90 for fascias on 3 bed semi, £110 if they want outside gutters and pipes cleaning too.

Don't get them all at that price, but get over 50%
