« on: September 22, 2013, 11:20:10 pm »
I got 2 x 11 ltr tanks am going to go double di till i am busy enough to get ro system.  Just noticed i only have enough to half fill 2nd vessel.Im still ok cos tds still at zero. Just wondered if it will still work half full. Will get 5kg bag if i have to. Not worth getting big bag yet cos lasting well over 18 months and tds out of tap has dropped from 152 to 66. Any advice please? :o

Yes it will still work  mate.  Won't last as long.  Best thing I did was purchase a 4040 RO. I had 4 years using 2 x11L Di bottles. Never again.

It will work fine if half-full, but not if half-empty.

Thanks for the intelligent responses.
I'm new to all this wfp stuff especially where water making is concerned.
Cheers Darren I am only doing a few houses a week so dont need loads of water. I only fill a few drums up. Still building round up slowly but no rush cos other job ok at moment. I will get a ro system probably in new year if I get busy. Have ordered some bits from china n gonna have a go at building my own back pack. I already got wcw & just got gardinersnfor back up. Might have to get rid of "Big Bertha" soon she is 75 ltr all singing n dancing. Will ty n put pic on if i can..

No problem Paul.  If you want any help with anything just PM me.  I set my business up 5 years ago, now as bolt a on I also do carpet cleaning (past 3 years) which helps through the winter months.

One bit of advice I will give you, it's all about the rinse, specially on new custy property.  Always make sure their frames are nice and clean on the first visit, and rinse really well.  You might have to go back over the windows again after you have cleaned them just to make sure their clean.

Rinse, and rinse and rinse mate. Make sure your water is pure.  I never ever go above 03ppm.  In fact it's always 000ppm with the 4040 RO.  I have also started selling pure water to local window cleaners/cleaning companies here in Leeds. 4p per ltr.

Your right about the rinse. I now rinse on the glass and watch the flow. I use to turn tap off to save water . I dont do this now as most of my new jobs are 1st cleans  with the frames minging. You say you sell water at 4p litre . Do you sell plenty ? Or just to cover costs. Whats the tds there?
