You wouldn't say that to a customer would you? But if you think you are genuinely out of pocket from a customer why shouldn't you use a black list.

What abuse do you think a system like this may be open to?

To the best of my knowledge you'd have to if you intend for any reason to share their details, i.e put them on a blacklist. You can't just do that at the drop of a hat.
What abuse do you think a system like this may be open to?

Someone who has not paid maybe due to a dispute could find themselves on a blacklist, also someone like might trawl through the blacklist and offer cleans to them if they are pre paid !!!  ;D

Are you married & do you have children Lee?

If so, you seriously need to spend more time with them! ;)

So it would appear Data Protection needs to be managed but not impossible to deal with.

What other abuses?

What are the benefits?

Address detail entered for other window cleaners to check, Date of non payments, the details surrounding non payment.

All claims will need to be validated some how.

Tell me where you think it might not work?

Some others are saying:

I could add a couple on there. I warn any other window cleaners that I meet in my area already. only trouble with it being online is not all of the cleaners around here go on any of these pages or forums.

If people abused it , then nobody would use iy anyway. Plus, up here we rarely get customers who don't pay, if they don't pay we just stop doing them, pick more work up all the time which cancels out the customer which didn't pay.. lol but it may be different down south.

some might just be added because they peed off the window cleaner.         Lee Burbidge: The home owner could be informed off the entry and put their case forward....

yes they could be, especially as it would be a public thing, if people move house then that could cause a few problems if that person has moved into a black listed house from the passed
or even the other way round, black listed person moves to different house        Lee Burbidge: The date I guess would be logged for that property. New owners would have to inform if they are new and get removed form any list

it wouldn't work anyway, if the customer was informed they were blacklisted then they would sack you anyway, they will get smart and probably start using smaller companies and people who don't use those systems and just want to earn a few quid for booze lol

Lee Burbidge You cant get everyone if they move then if they have bad habit of none paying they will do it again.

Lee Burbidge It could be a big wand to help window cleaners get payment?
