why wont my pump cut off?
« on: August 30, 2013, 02:34:08 pm »
hi guys

My flow controller packed in the other day so ive just been running the water straight from the shurflo pump.
My only problem is tho, is that when I turn the water off via the ball valve on my hose, the  water pressure builds up and the hoselock shoots of the hose reel, I thought the pump should cut out?

Chers for reading guys.

did you bypass the shutoff valve, when you installed the controller.

I know this is gonna sound a bit thick but I don't really understand what you mean? I just connected it from the in structions ??? pipe from tank to pump then from pump to hose.

There is an electronic switch on the back of the pump that you have bypassed/taken off to use the controller. You need to put it back on.

It is either sucking in air or has a bit of poop in the diaphragm.

Check all the connections between tank and pump.

Hmmm, sounds like an airlock. Do you have DI bottles in the system?

Hi mate, try disconnecting hose at pump run the water through the pump, try that little filter that collects all the dirt make sure it's clear, then go to your controller adjust the setting of the strength of the water goes abcdefg1234567 see if that makes a difference.

right to change the setting turn controller on

hold up and down until the letters come up
then again press up and down again so they flash.

change to a different letter,

then try of the power to the unit, this saves the setting,if you don't then it wont change.

you may have to do this on a few different setting befor eyou find whats right for you

b/c is about right
