Google Adwords

I'm thinking about trying Google Adwords to see if it generates any interest, anyone else used it before and did you get many hits on your site and more importantly did you get much work?

I did, didn't work for me, cost between 1 and 2 pound per click to get on first page, spent about 60 pound and gained 1 job that was a 1 off. Better off getting someone to do Seo on your website, works out cheaper

Only 1 job from spending £60, thats not what I wanted to hear  ;D
I thought that being high on page 1 would generate a lot of work.
You must have had between 30 and 60 clicks, how many actually became enquiries.

Tbh you get a lot of marketers clicking on your website and ringing you offering services etc, I payed an Seo guy to do my site, cost 100 pound to write up website and get me on first page of google , no cost per click. It doesn't seem to bring in much work but when that big company is looking for a window cleaner, or customer with massive house your website is there on first page

Google do t set it up very well to benefit you.
First few months I spent £100odd gaining back (almost exactly) what I spent each month but obviously I paid once and the customers are every month so quids in.

I then got Ash White (he cones on here, carpet cleaner also) to sort my Adwords account.
I now pay around £35PCM for c£50 new work per month on average.
Been quiet this month though.
Ash did warn me it would though.

That's the thing.
I tried that.
The Internet is much cleverer than what we is

Call Ash, he'll sort you.
Quite reasonable too.

Get someone who knows what they are doing  eg. who does it for a living.

I have it for all my add ons. Whatever my bill is, on average i earn 10 x's!!

i dont even leaflet now, and that used to be my main advertising!!

I had a good response from it and it's got me some good custys and more than payed for itself. The cost per click rate has gone right up at the moment so it's not such good value, so I've cancelled mine for the time being. I'll be doing it again soon though.  :)
